yes, use the 2nd diagram to be able to "play" with the timing

but mind you for low boost... adjusting the timing is not really necessary

i've run up to 8 psi on my setup without retarding the timing with no detonations... just made sure that delivering enough fuel with higher octane

Ok i know this is late and my chances of getting someone who knows the SMT-6 intimately are slim. But i installed it and all i get when i click "go online" is

QUOTE
runtime error "6"
overflow

And then the Window shuts down.

I tried loading the map first, and i also tried setting the global settings, but as soon as i hit go online it says runtime error 6 and shuts down.

I wired it in like the diagram in this thread shows for the extra injectors. Im pretty darn confident in my wiring also.

Ill PM denis and jay tho.

alex,

it looks like a communication problem between the smt-6 and your laptop... you need to FULLY uninstall the smt-6 software (control panel... add/remove programs thingamagig) then after reinstall it again... oh also, you might wanna visit the perfect power site and see if you are running the latest version of it if there is any changes

also, are you using your com port (rs232-c/serial cable) or the usb port with a usb to serial adapter? please check you comm settings on your laptop

let us know what the results... i will pm you my contact phone number wink1.gif

Guess i should update.

After talking to deniss on msn for like 2 days trying every little thing, swapping between my extra SMT-6 and using different comms cables, checking the wiring, and countless uninstall and reinstallations.

Deniss suggested i download the version he uses v2.6.7 (as opposed to 2.6.11) and try to reset the SMT-6.

It worked and i ended up staying up all night tuning my car to get about a 11.8-12.3 anytime i was under boost.

i managed to get up to 7 pounds and the car was pulling hard. I would have kept going but yesterday my "speed-factor special" turbo Fux0r3d on the way to work.

Time for a NEW bb t3/t4 CHRA. firedevil.gif
