Make Your Boosted Engines Bulletproof!
i've just finished the engine rebuild.
its damn expensive for parts and labour, cost $4k+.
includes forged pistons, forged rods, racing crankshaft, replaced the block to 2.0.
bored, honed, etc.
for the oils, workshop recommended to use a mineral multigrade oil instead of synthetic.
I'm now using a motul multigrade 10/40.
performance improvement, increased hp across all rpm, especially low to midrange rpm.

engine was stripped down.
the workshop recommended to replace the stock crankshaft.
I'll know in about 3-4 weeks what the car can do in a quarter mile.
My main target was a car that is driveable in the street.
and maximum acceleration on power and torque under 4000rpm.
If I wanted a drag car, I would have invested on a bigger turbo and not a t25 base.

Your shop's recomendation is wrong. You do NOT need a crankshaft. You'd be lucky if you could put out the kind of power it needs to break.
You just need it balanced.
