Out of curiosity, what benefit is rifle drilling? Im assuming lighter, anything else?

Bump. After a year and a half, I started doing work on the Tib, or the built motor.

Here's the notching I just did for the Pauters.

Make sure you check the clearances again with the motor assembled...also heat expansion needs to be checked as well. The rods will be larger at operating temp.

The rods cleared last time while on the stand, and may have bumped the block at 3krpms. I notched the block 1/4" deep, so I know that's more than enough clearance now.
