yeah i dont see me going heavy on the internals quite yet. im gonna do the minor things. that which of you guys have suggested or can suggest me here. because my big problem is taking the car to a shop here and then trying to build it with the expectations that my hyundai cant handle it. know what i mean. so i want it done right, not unknowingly built. and im still fresh at the engine game so im still trying to figure out compression ratios and such. im a big electrical buff so i steered clear of engine to really focous on the electrical. but now its time to shine in that field aswell. i just hope i can get it all figured out. cuz once the snow drops here its getting built and i cant wait to take it to the track here and beat some hondas and toyota's! fing02.gif

if you plan on running 300whp DAILY, i would get some 9:1 or 9.5:1 compression forged pistons. for 400$ it would definately be worth it. plus, depending on the miles on your engine, and the condition, it would probably be a good idea anyway.

i know jon gtr was pushing ~300whp on his stock un-opened motor, and i believe he still is.

but why did you just pick a number out, have you ever driven in a 300whp tib? do you know what 300whp is? why is 300whp your goal?

i picked 300 whp cuz i know where the stock tib rests at hp and i figured that 300 was a resonably obtainable goal on the car without spending 15 grand. i do know the difference between different spots hp is measured at like wheel and crank. i do know that much... also 300whp seems to be a target for the 1/4 mile time im lookin for. or at least i think tongue.gif

if you have the money i would go standalone...either ms ecu that kfxperformance is devoloping or the plug and pay haltech e6x...both tdonnel and tibbytib have this option...it gives you better tuning options...

personally it levels at about the price...about 1500.00 for smt/dual kit(give or take)...750.00 ms ecu(includes a wideband)...dont know price for haltech or the plug and play...but enthaply(hope i spelled it right) will be able to give you a quote cause he makes them...

personally if i had the money to turbo i would go standalone...

another option would be emanage ultimate but socks will have to give info on this never looked into it

Has anyone ever looked at the AEM F/IC? I installed this united recently in my tib with no problems at all. It has so many options to handle fuel injection, timing retard and O2 sensor signal altering. You won´t need any other devices like a "Timing Box" or a "Turbo Box" like with the SMT-6.

You can easily take control over the injection signals and you can extend and shorten it, so there is no need for a second injector rail! There are so many other features this controller supports, so take a look at it at the aem website!

I really can´t understand why nobody ever tried it here. I think there is no reason anymore to deal with the SMT-6 or the Emanage anymore!

What's ur target 1/4 mile ET?

OT: it's good to know that the AEM FIC works wonderfully on our cars!

Damn, I wished I have bought that one. I would highly recommend this, assuming it really works flawlessly on our cars.

I have had an AEM FIC on my GK Beta II Tib for a little over a year and it has worked out great with my setup.

Alpine S/C kit, 57mm pulley, 525cc SRT injectors, depending on air temps I get 11-12 lbs of boost.

Driveability is same as stock, no problems with cold start or hot restart, car idles fine W or WO AC on.

theres a bunch of different part numbers.. i would doubt that you would need/want the fic-8 though.

for the fic-6 theres like 30-1910, 30-1911, 30-1912, 30-1913, and i believe the fic8 is the 30-1930.

if this sucker works, say bye bye to the emanage and the SMT.

the maps on this thing are really nice for a piggy back 21x17.
