Thought I should post an update. I have all my vacuum lines run. I would've had this up and running a few weeks ago but my laptop crapped out, and I'm waiting on a good deal to buy a new (used) one... I borrowed a friends laptop, and it looks like all the sensors are reading good, but I was having issues with the MS reading the crank sensor signal. There are two pots on the MS that kind of have to be 'dialed in' to read the signal properly, and I didn't have enough time to mess around with my friends laptop, so I'm just waiting on that to get this up and running. Side jobs are starting to pick up for me, which means I won't have as much time to work on the car, but I'll be able to buy all the parts I need. I just made a quick list of what I have left to install/need to buy.

Waiting to be installed;
-Momo steering wheel
-Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
-450cc injectors once the engine is running
-Sparco racing seats
-Rear and middle bars
-Head unit (sold off my CarPC parts a while ago)
-Alpine Type-R in my custom fiberglass enclosure
-Alpine 500w Sub Amp
-Compact Divisions 3 gauge pillar pod
-Electronic boost controller

Still need to purchase;
Boost, EGT, Oil press. gauges (Prosport Blue/White series)
Fuel pressure regulator (still undecided)
Oil catch can (want something that looks better than a water seperator but without the $$$)
Wastegate and turbine exhaust gaskets

Other work needed to be done;
Weld IAT fitting into charge piping
Fab and weld in a pipe to replace the MAF
Fab a mount for the FMIC
Weld bungs into the charge piping to insert filler plugs (currently has brass barbed nipples for who knows what)

I'm buying a MIG welder, hopefully this week. I've done a bit of stick and mig welding at work (lots of stick and very little mig actually) so with some practice hopefully I can do all my own piping. Especially for my downpipe/IC piping once I upsize my turbo and relocate my alternator.

I ran an SMC NAW3000 series separator on my PCV line. Worth a look?
Sure, I even ran the search for you!

Oh that actually looks half decent, and of better quality. Now I just have to find one that ships to Canada. Thanks Stocker!

edit; I just picked up a used one, different model than yours, for $5 (plus 25 shipping to Canada). Sweet.

Engine is running!!! Complete standalone MS-II extra.

Things I had to modify to get it up and running;

Insert a 10k Ohm resistor into the CKP sensor circuit and tune it some more to get the MS to read our vr sensor.
Bypass the ECU relay, since the MS has no use for it, but it delivers power to fuel pump and ignition. Can probably wire it up to the MS somehow, probably with the fuel pump relay wire and a diode, so that when the key is turned on, both wires are grounded. This will run the fuel pump when the key is in the ON position, even if the car isn't running (like most other vehicles).

I'll be installing the boost control circuit today or tomorrow, and then I can hook it all up for good.
Still have to figure out tach control.

Tach control? Like where you can get a tach signal? You might be able to find a tachometer that clips onto a spark plug wire.

That isn't necessary, I found MS has an option for that, to control the stock tacho. I added the circuit tonight, along with a relay control circuit for the stock rad fan relay. I'll finish with the boost circuit tomorrow, and then MS should be 100% complete. Ordering all my gauges tonight, that's about the last thing I'm waiting on. I'll clean up my brakes and paint them tomorrow, and with any luck I can drive it for the long weekend.

Tach and rad fan are working, just need to wire up the boost controller externally and it should be 100% complete. Was able to jumper the engine relay control to the fuel pump relay control by cutting the fuel pump relay control wire at the ECU plug and putting in a diode there. Could have done it with the MS but I'm just about fed up with tearing that thing apart and adding/modding it. Besides that, it's more reliable this way.

Anyways, once MS is complete and running I'll post up a DIY. I will mention first that for the amount of work you would put into this, I'd probably go with the KFX kit. This is the type of project that you take on yourself if you ENJOY building something from scratch and knowing exactly what is inside. That being said, I have about 60 hours invested into my MS unit. With a DIY you'd probably be looking at 15-25 hours. However, I had 0 prior knowledge of ECU's, or the MS, before this project, and it turned out pretty damn good. And my car is still running MS before Ericy's and he ordered his 14 months ago nana.gif

Just had to add that last part in there. BANNED! lmao

Good to see its up and running. With the way Ive been working on mine lately I should be running at the end up May. Thats if I have an ecu to run it though of course. Ive got a long weekend coming up that will be all Tib work, no side jobs or anything scheduled and its going to stay that way. Cant wait to see some numbers from your setup man!
