Well, I setup the turbo on the stand today, and got very excited to see some light at the end of the tunnel, so I thought I'd post something to show that my dreams are slowly coming to fruition. I started gathering parts about 18 months ago. My car has been parked and in 50,000 pieces for about a year, in my dads garage.

Here are some pics.

Before the debauchery began.

Goodbye bumper... And suspension.

And to think, I'd never done more than replace an air filter before. This was a big step for me.

Goodbye.

Me changing the oil pan on my ex's elantra... I was not amused.

I installed an air system to aid in the project.

Her home for the past year. Ignore the christmas lights, this was summer.

DIY baby. Poor mans engine hoist.

Sure it's safe. Ahem.

Holy crap, what did I get myself into?

I really thought I had taken more pics of the process... I'll take pics tomorrow of what she looks like. It's so beautiful, it's been a long time since I've been this excited about this project.

I've wasted alot of money on this project.

These are all things I bought and sold at a loss, or am currently selling at a loss.

Here are some pics as of today.

As it sits today. As you can see, the engine bay has become home to a tire cover, gift wrap, some plywood, and a bunch of other random things.

A bunch of parts stored inside the car.

Sweet exhaust. (other parts are in the trunk and on the engine)

And the reason for my excitement, some mockup!

That's the engine I bought from greatlakestib, built by t4turbotiburon a while back. Was running 22 PSI when he was breaking it in, and claimed he built it for 450+ HP, which should be more than enough for my goals.

I have a few more parts to buy... Lightweight pully's, still waiting to see if the timing belt/water pump/etc were changed when it was built. I have all the major stuff, it's just little things holding me up now. I might just start bolting it up and change those things after, once I find a new good job.
