I`ve bought a Mitsubishi Shogun (Pajearo)intercooler to install on my Scoupe Turbo. My intention is to mount it in front of the radiator, but it`ll be a bitch running the pipes around the rad. sides & the car`s too low to go underneath.
The unit came with a fan, so I can possibly mount it in the engine bay where the airbox used to be & use either push or pull draft thru` the horizontal `cooler.
Any thoughts on this Guys?.

VALKYRIE,

Just take the I/C to a local Radiator shop and they should be able to modify the end tanks to move the piping to the location you want to make it easier to run the I/C piping the way you want and making it easier to mount in front of the Rad.

You also don't want to mount the I/C under the hood without a vent of some type of way to push air from the hood across the I/C, the fan will help alittle bit but not enough against the Engine Heat and in return you will just heat soak the I/C quickly making it ineffective.

Interesting reading... those guys in Australia are such cheapscapes smile.gif

Well, those prices are in Australian dollars... around 60 cents per.

Anyways if someone is really good with welding aluminum... I know for a fact that an endless supply of used Series 6 RX-7 intercoolers.. that is the 93-95 FD's are available for right around $50 each. Shoot I even have one sitting in my parts bin.

BTW, I've been very busy working on my cars... so I haven't had much time for the Hyundai forums. I have to reconvert my Z3 to NA and sell it... and I have to get my RX-7 civilized for daily use.

JAWS,

The Z3 is being reconverted and sold to lessen the impact of payments on a 2003 M3 Convertible (wife's car). And civilizing the RX-7 is not that bad... it will weigh an extra 150# but it will still make 417 HP to the wheels.... maybe more now that the koreans are getting RON 98 octane fuel. I'll just have to terrorize the "race" cars driving to and from the drag racing events.

That's a great read.

I wonder how my Audi intercooler rates next to those.

Cheuk, like you, I've been away from the boards for a while too. It's nice to know that you still consider 415 hp "civilized" smile.gif
