Any suggestion for beta turbo?
I really want to know more information about piggy back that will work with my beta turbo.
1. boost under 15 psi
2. still seeking good piston set and good value
3. 550cc-650cc injector
4. Can i still using stock rod?
Plese ad more comment on anything I will need. But I couldn't afford stand alone ECU.
I'll be appriciate for the advise.THANKS

I was reading yesterday (yes i can read0
in turbo mag. that the Buddy Club Racing Spec. computer is a piggy back system with nearly the tuning capability of a stand alone unit, but cheaper.
According to the article it was both MAP and MAF compatible and had 200 (20 x 10) available tuning points. I cant find much about it online.
I'll read the article again when I get home and post notes if anyone wants to know more.
here is one link if you can read japanese.
(computer link is on side bar)
Japnese buddy club
and here is one in english (1/2 way down page for pricing) Buddy Club English
looks like the price would be about $1000.00

Stock rods should be ok...
As far as piggy back...
Unichip
Smt-6
Safc + MSD ignition
There are some other ECU options that should be coming out soon

Let me know your car and ECU info.
What year, MAP(Siemens 55pin) of MAF (Bosch 88 pin) sensor ?
How about comp ratio ?
ECU option as follows
It depends on price..
1) ECU reprogram
2) If MAF type.. ECU swap as MAP type
3) Piggy back
How to control ignition timing per boost ??
4) F-con V pro
5) Motec or Haltec..
I already tested stock rod for 400hp
It is OKay.
But..you must Know if you increase power..
weak point as follows.
1) engine bearing.
It is easily damaged by high power.
2) piston pin
Beta pin is 20mm, 20mm can support max 40-50Kg
torque.
I made special con-rod 2 years ago.
The engineer advised me to increase 22mm.
So I made 22mm con-rod and piston for over than
70Kg torque
3) rod
Generally, con-rod is desined 5 times Torque
And it can support 2-3 times Torque
So...Beta is 19Kg Torque.. * 2-3 = about 40 -
60Kg
60 Kg is about 550 Hp..

My beta is 1.6L engine with 2bar Map but I,m not sure about ECU.Does any can give suggestion where I can get specification about my engine that has been sold in Thailand that would be help me a lot.For now I'm running my beta with stock comp ratio about 10.1:1 with a more efficiency fuel pump and adjustable fuel regulator(Webber fuel regulator) about 48psi
at idle speed with additional injector control by HKS AIC. But I'v been running this car 5psi for 2 years from the day this turbo system has been installed.Installed at 45,000kms now over 1000,000kms.Planing on more power for daily driving. But most of the tuning shop in Thailand would laugh at my thinking about tuning this engine and recomment the same thing about swap engine to the newest Mitzubishi 4G63T from Evelution 6 or Evelution 7.It will cost me around 2,500 usd with upgrade ECU tuning for 20psi price are include every thing with all labor cost and dyno day for tuning. What should I'll do? I'm feeling a bit of lonely driving a Hyundai in Thailand. Ther are not any Hyundai community even not any dealer to support for technical help.Everybody selling their Hyundai and no more people buying Hyundai any more but not me.Your guys are lucky that have lot of people to talk about your's favorite car.And thanks for any helped.

I suggest instead of making a turbo custom.
Just go get a kit.
they did most of the worry so you dont have to.
and you can blame when it dont work.
1.6 Beta engine? Kewl. smile.gif You have turboed it. Wow.
Switch to a 2.0 Beta if you could find one. Or get CNK's kit w/o his pistons. But get your head machined by him.
What do you whant to know about the 1.6 Beta? Ask and I might have the info somewhere.
I advise that you get a standalone like a Haltech E6K.
