Default Factory intercooler compairson

Rather than shell out $$$ for a new intercooler, why not buy used, and cheap OEM to boot?

Not all models are available in the USA, but it's darn good reading.

the intercooler i used in my elantra was a toyota MR2 SW20 turbo item. its a good size about 40cmx30cm and is easy to fit in as the inlet and outlet come out the same side.

The hot items on the Mopar Turbo side of the fence is to use Ford Powerstroke or Cummins Turbodeisel intercoolers, situated in front or behind the radiator...

$250 was the last price I saw for the Powerstroke intercooler, and it's like 3'wide and 2' tall or something around that with 3" pipes...

I'll have to see if I can reproduce their setup/measurements. It's worth a try.

A lot of the 3rd generation Supra guys like the Isuzu NPR (Turbo diesel truck) intercooler.

The stock Supra intercooler is reasonable on the Supra to about 10 psi boost. Some of the Celica all-trac turbo guys have reported that the Supra's stock IC is reasonable for up to 15 psi on the smaller (2.0L) displacement engines, but I don't know how accurate that is.
