The razzing is harsh on this board, I hope you can roll with the punches Brainiac, it's all done in jest (sort of).

Brainiac, did you mean 212 bhp or 212 whp in your other thread? For credibility's sake I hope it's at the crank. A WRX is a 2.4 liter and gets 227 bhp with its stock turbo if I'm not mistaken.

212 bhp seems right for 8 psi, doesn't it? I think with 92+ octane, a rising rate fuel regulator, and the tuning that was done could reach 212. The one thing I can't believe is that the 5th injector didn't help, it will cool the charged air by (about) ~ 15 degrees +/-5.

Lastly (to Brainiac) did you keep the stock fuel pump? What did 'tuning' involve? Please answer these, we're very interested! thanks

Firts of all I think that some of you may have a reading problem. rolleyes.gif

Did I say that it was 212whp? Ummm...NO!
Did I say that the S-AFC was running the fifth injector? Ummm..NO!!

Don't be mad at me because you all can't manage to get jack sh!t out of your setup!

"I think 150-160 Wheel HP will be about it. We (Koreans) and Rimmer has never been able to get much more power than that out of the Tibby's here."

That sounds like a personal problem to me.

simonR8SR

You are correct about it being 212bhp.
The last dyno showed 178hp to the front wheels with 186lbs of tourque.

As for the fifth injector setup, It was run off of a Rimmer fuel programer. The major problem was in the tunning. Every time we would try to adjust the fuel the stock ecu would counter
it. It ended up dumping to much fuel and running extremly rich.

That is why I went with the S-AFC.

as for the fuel pump, it is stock.
TOTALLY STOCK!!!

damn 186 torque! that is sweet dude.

i thought you said earlier that they removed the 5th injector? So you have the rimmer unit just manage the fifth injector? or have the rimmer manage all 5 injectors and have the s-afc finetune the ecu's trim?

The maximum for the fuel pump should be around 180hp? assuming thats whp, so that sounds about right, but if you can dig up those dyno's i'm pretty sure it'll clear up a potential flame-fest.
Also hook us up with some pictures, it sounds like you have a sweet setup. And why are you selling your S/C?

Brainiac,

I think you misunderstand, a shop here had a guy from RIMMER flown out to Korea and spend two weeks trying to get them to make power. After countless hours with injectors, fuel pumps, fuel changes and many many runs on the dyno. 150-160 wheel HP is what they made.

If you made more... more power to you but I have my doubts... if the car did... my hat is off to your TUNER.

Could you list all of your mods?

It is not a personal problem. I think you should learn to be a little more personable... you don't want to piss everyone off do you?
