I like the sound S/C's make..... tongue.gif:

Seriously though, Maybe if you got the Maintec GT headers it would do better. I would like to see what it does since I am getting them myself. Also, can you use something like an SMT6 in conjunction with the unichip?

But Mad, in the words of Corkey Bell "if there is no lag, there is nothing to look forward to."

I just don't see our engines putting out enough torque to efficiently run a supercharger. They work wonders on the V8's, but on smaller engines I would definitely prefer a turbo, you can harness the power so much better.

on the other hand I hope everything goes good for you Ford. I always try to encourage new ideas, god knows I am to scared/uneducated to do so. Keep us updated with the progress and how the unichip turns out. Hopefully they've worked out some of the bugs.

thanks for all of the positive support on this .. I am having tons of fun with the car now smile.gif

I would like to reply to the comment about the smt-6 ... the unichip is just as sophisticated as the smt-6 .. it has the ability to control timing and supplemental injectors and a ton of other awesome stuff...

The only thing that I dont like about it is that you have to take it to a dealer to have it re-tuned ...

yea.. that is the thing I do not like about unichip too.. I would rather go with the SMT or even eManage due to the fact you could take the car to ANY dyno and tune it right there on the spot.

200 HP is easy to get too. 200whp is going to be another story since we lack a type of intercooler. 10 psi with this s/c will get you to 200whp.

I'm running 200bhp at the flywheel. http://www.xorro.eclipse.co.uk/ukhcs/hcsup...percharger.html - this is a rough outline of the work I have had done to acheive this.

Everyone I have spoken to (including Alpine) tell me that their system is not designed to work with an i/c, which is why I am using the water injection.

I recently replaced the s/c unit as the other one had a problem (unknown) and the fins were catching on the inside of the casing. I spoke to the UK importer of the Eaton units, apparently 9psi is the most you should run at, otherwise you are trying to put more air into the engine than it can take.

Yep already stated. THe intake manifold is what limits us. Any s/c can be intercooled. Its all about how the kit is designed. If I had the tools and the money I would redesign it. ANd make it look more like the miada's s/c kit. Then we can throw alot of psi with no worrys.

Edit: Long time no post Xorro.

Corky may be brilliant when it comes to turbos.. but he's on a crack boost high. I am after drivability first and foremost.. I have had cars that do not idle, spit flame, and were just generally evil.. while a lot of fun for a couple of months, the joy wears off when you get stuck in a parking lot trying to figure out why the car won't start.. especially on a cold winter's day with a freezing rain falling on your head.

also, if your screen still shows the old pics with the white elbow, hit the F5 key (refresh) button on your browser to re-load the pictures properly...

You have both pics up.. the middle is still with the PVC elbow.. but it works well to illustrate the difference between the two.. looking good!
