Hmm yeah, i didnt really think it would be that expensive to produce the heads.... maybe theres just a different way we can port it out without damaging other important parts... I dunno, I just think that if they can make a 1.6L honduh pos run 9s, then we should be able to also! lol w/e it takes!!! ......... is the head on the 4 cyl GK any different?

/\ not much, doubtful if it has any more flow that isnt due to the CVVT, its still the beta.

And theres no way a company is going to make an aftermarket head for us, P/P is good enough.

we'll see how well tdonnells rediculous P/P fares for n/a guys.

DMDicks already did flow numbers from a stock and P&P head. It shows huge gains for FI capabilities. The ported Beta head also puts out more CFM than a ported Delta will.

Nice topic Jon. I guess it got bumped out of existence at NT cause 99.9% of them don't know what those numbers mean. lmao.gif

Those are actually pretty darn good numbers, nothing to write home about but not horrible.

I have had the head ported and polished with bigger cams, cam sprockets plus ferra valves, valve springs, retainers, and locaters and still waiting on alpine to finish my downpipe and turbo manifold. I can tell you this much its expensive the valve train alone is over a thousand.

I just got the head back this last weekend (10-11 Nov.) I will post the picks of the head and also the turbo by tonight. I do have pics in photobucket under darkshadowracing under the name mani but I think I have posted them on here before. There are some old pics but some are new like the ferra valve train. The pics of the head are before the port and polish.

Well, I dunno how much better my head flows than stock. Considering they didn't really PORT out the gasket or splitter sides of it (just the bowls). I thought they were going to port out the entire thing, especially for the money I paid, but sad.gif .

I can however tell you the increase of my maximum airflow percentage read by my SAFC II did increase about 10%. My previous maximum number was 78%. I have had it up to 90.5% with the new head, in temps that were warmer than when I got the 78% so, when it gets colder, it will go even higher. I however do think that the 90% reading was a fluke. I can however easlily average in the upper 70's during the day. I got my 78% reading previously during a 25 degree night. It has been around 65 recently and I can get the flow up to about 80% at redline.

It's pretty crazy that I will probably be near maxing out the stock maf completely NA when people boost 10 psi on it.
