1997 'rev A' Fx For Sale
I replied to Spidey, but I'll give a synopsis of my reply here in this thread.
If you live somewhere that never sees below 50 degrees F, then this would be a fine daily driver. But the forged pistons and the five thousandths of piston-to-wall clearance means that it will be a bear in cold weather. Further, since the Haltech idle control motor isn't installed yet, it will want some manual attention to the gas pedal to get idling right in the cold. If it's in the 40's or below, I don't even attempt to start it.
This isn't a start-and-drive setup either; you need to wait for it to warm up (ie, let the pistons expand and calm down all the clattering) before you go ragging on it. If you don't, you can risk damage to the cylinder walls or pistons themselves in severe cases of abuse.
I would have zero qualms driving this thing from my house to California in one fail swoop, it's mechanically 100% and will get you anywhere you want to go. But this setup was intended for epic boost, not cold weather driving! I wouldn't suggest this setup as a daily driver, unless (again) you're somewhere that doesn't get cold -- or unless you have a "winter beater" to use instead. smile.gif
Wow, what the hell happened to the site? Database seemed to have puked for quite a while, as I've been trying to post pictures now for like five hours.
I took these right around 7:00pm EST, so the light was getting low. The pics might be slightly fuzzy since I didn't bring my tripod and it was still 1/20th and 1/15th shutter speeds on a few of these...

Yes, the engine bay is dirty. And the white dot on the bumper is bird poop.
Sale is pending, BTW...

omg, lol seeing these pics just makes the old Chris wanna come out and play, lol. I could seriously make this car a hot little track beast. If I come up with a good 5000 bucks in the next 2 weeks I'll do it, lol. My buddy wants to buy his kid a new car, maybe this will be it smile.gif I could just swap all the bad stuff onto my car, give him my stock stuff, and spend a weekend swappin engines, etc smile.gif

let me know if it doesn't get sold! I'm in ashland. Wish that you posted this a month earlier! just bought a motor and a ton of other items.
I'll definitely be interested if you don't sell.

For those who have been watching the thread and/or PM'ing me, the money arrived from the seller about nine hours ago, which makes the car officially sold. The buyer will be taking all of the parts with them, so there is no further business to be transacted in this thread.
Thank you all for your interest and kind words smile.gif
