Well just for the sake of arguement I raced my brothers 1.6 SOHC 1990 Civic when I first bought my Tibby. He only had a CAI and headers only and he was able to keep up with me from the start. I thought just because I was a 2.0 DOHC that I could blow him away but that wasnt the case at all. Its also the drivers capabilties in shifting. That I learned later on down the road.

Honda knows how to make a strong engine I'll give them that.

 

your right about shifting, alot of people shift gears and ride it out... or ride it until redline, or power shift... i do my own method, none of these. Maybe another fact is some people are affraid to just step on the gas?????? I know some people have fast cars but are too affraid to open it up. Who knows.. who cares.... Nobody ever is gonna believe what someone else says but wants everyone else to believe them.... so what... thats the way its been since my friends and I got our liscences and thats the way it will probably be forever as long as kids can ride in something they can race someone elses.
I dunno... lol...

 

Ok, since we are listing cars we have raced.
we were doing some street 1/4 mile racing every weekend for awhile,
I just wish somebody would brought something that was worth raceing, they had eclipse's older celica's, probes, and stuff,
the only car that gave me a good race was a 89 Camaro, which i did beat, the Camaro was an automatic though.

I own a 97 Tib 2.0 Man.
and a 90 Honda Civic SI (no Vtec)

My girlfriend has a 2000 civic EX
I have no problems beating that car with my Tib,

I still haven't got a chance to race a newer SI though,
I would race my SI, but i know i would beat it.

does anyone know about a 1/4 mile track that is in Mercer, PA. mabey some of you from Pittsburgh would know?

but thats what the sport is really all about, it all started when kids had cars with no aftermarket and had to use some brains to do **** on their own right? I mean ya i LOVE the fact that i can just go buy something and POP it in. But its not as challenging really to see who has a faster car... thats where the REAL racers are. The old guys talk to them about 40 + theyll tell you. yes there was always a lil aftermarket but for these guys there was not as much pride to that person as someone who won with something he built himself.

Also I was gonna buy a new prelude the Vtech with the slap stick and ****, there was no power even my girlfriend who has only driven my car once noticed it the minute i took the prelude off the parking lot. The salesman said do you feel that power and my gf in the backseat just looked at me, and told him herself no. He told us it was a higher RPM car. I said thats bull ill stick with my car. So i remain with the tib. Thats my little honda story lol

im new to this tuning game and all, i got my tib in august, but before that i had a stock 5 speed base model '91 corolla. i could hang in that with my buddys slammed ex that hes showed at carlisle for the past two yrs. my tib aint my corrolla. id smoke him.

 

i have a stock 01 tibby and i love beatin neons id have a bunch of stuff done to it by now but i keep gettin in accidents and speeding tickets. one thing i think a lot of people do is go for looks before more hp and then they think they are the shiznit. which is why im so unhappy about my last accident cause its goin to be cheaper buying a body kit and all of this is keeping me from shopping for turbos and coilovers. honestly when i get outta college im lookin to start a business that will make performance parts or open a store that sells them and i want my tiburon to be as well known as some of the quickest integras and civics on the drag scene but for now im stuck losing to them and i only seem to run into the si's which kinda sucks cause ill race anyone even though i know ill lose and on another unrelated topic does anyone know if ill get a free clutch if mine is slipping and im not gettin a performance one yet unless the dealer wont replace it for free? sorry for rambling i had to get that out.
