1FSTSHARK, which civic did u have and wut kind of mods?? I have personally beaten every type of civic from about 92s-99s, dx to ex, Hatch to 4 door and had no problem. This doesn't mean I haven't lost, cause a few that weren't stock have handed me my ass.

I had a 98 Civic HX. That's got the Vtec-e engine in it. It's a weird engine and not one to mess with. I had an intake exhaust short shifter and fuel regulator. I could hit 120 in 3 gear in that car. I know from past races just by the feel of the two cars that my civic would win. Downshifting from 5 to third on the highway was just at the time of the vtec kicking in and the peak of the power. Off the line the tib would come out on top but I know within a few secinds my civic would catch up. I know a lot of peeps don't wanna hear that or even wont belive me but I know what i'm talkin about.

I have respect for what everyone writes here, I do. But I have raced an HX before, DX, LX, and a EX. I have beaten them all except for an SI. Im not saying I dont believe you, but with the mods I can understand cause the HX I believe falls between the DX and the EX hp range, so maybe.I can see it.

Civic HX: Car-stats.com - 17.1 quarter mile
Tiburon: car-stats.com 16.3-16.7 quarter mile

Tiburon: 140HP, 133lbs.
Civic HX: 115 HP, 104lbs.

Tiburon should even be faster than the times say, but the hx is a little lighter, thus only a .8-.4 quarter mile advantage. However, a manual hx, vs. an auto tib would be a good match.

If the driver is decent, even the EX which has more HP is no match for a tib. With a bad driver the SI is even beatable with the 45 more HP that it has over the HX.

HP and torque don't always matter in a race. The gearing on the HX is way better and longer than that on a tib. As I explained b4 I could do 120 in 3rd gear on my civic. I can barely do 100 in 4th gear on the tibby. With the V-tec engine on the HX it can blow up any other civic on the market except for maybe the Si. Stock vs. stock I have beaten EXs in it. The engine is weird and therefore the torque curve is higher than on an EX. And the V-tec kicks in at better rpms. The combo of that and the fuel regulator makes a lethal combo. It's an odd little engine and not one to underestamate. It also depends on the quality of the performance parts you put on it. I know that your gonna gain more hp with an exhaust on a civic than you will on a tib. Just because of the fact that civic's are geared more towards performance than tibs. When they redesigned them they had a lot of this in mind. And most aftermarket parts are tested on hondas not hyundais so they are technically built for them. I wish that I would of had times or a dyno for the civic but I never got into it too much. But I do know that it would win.

I honestly still find it hard to believe that an HX could do all that. But then again I never driven an HX to say anything. But wouldnt everyone buy the HX if it was capable of all those things?? But hey if that car kicked butt and does what he said, I believe a fellow member of this club.

You know I have raced in the past month almost every type of car on Mondays after school (college) and I have raced a CRX SI modded, a Prelude with an intake and exhaust a firebird, an Integra and a Cougar(one of the new V6 Standards) and the last one is a Grand Prix GT and a Probe with intake and exhaust. Out of all those cars the only one that I sadly lost to was the Grand Prix. He literally blew me away. The only one that came close to beating me other wise was the CRX SI. I had blown my tire on this race @ 120 MPH but i was too far ahead for it to make a diff. The guy helped me change my tire when he pulled up which was cool. My car is totally stock but i blew most of them away the worst win i had was the probe that was sick.... the worst loss was the grand prix. Youll win some youll lose some... But ill die trying.....

Well I could see you beating all of them if you had stuff done to your car. Bone stock I doubt it. But the only way that you would beat all of them is if they weren't trying. Sorry man but I gotta say this. I know you'll say believe what you want and i'll prob lose some stars with this but I gotta say my piece. I hate peeps that come on trying to brag themselves up.

i didnt think i was bragging? bragging about loosing to the grand prix? Well i got a few witnesses to all every race. so its all good. and I also got a few bucks, so its even better for me. But on the other end I dont need to brag about anything, i dont even have anything to brag about. I was just telling some facts about what has happened to me in some past races. If you get offended by someone else being proud of what they accomplished, that aint cool. I dont need to lie it aint like im saying im beatin a prosche Gt2 or nothing... lol... its a damn probe.. and crx for christ sake... maybe my cars newer theres is older... things go after time no matter what you ADD to it... you can add a jet engine but if the wheels aint turnin it aint goin no where... get me? and yes i know a jet engine would probably push the car even if the wheels werent moving .. it wasnt literal.
