Cat convertors turn the nasty stuff into non nasty stuff, it doesn't hold it in there, there will never be "waste" in your cat. It does thing such as oxidizes carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. It gets rid of lots of nasty crap you don't want to breathe. Cats release a lot of nitrous dioxide, but the gains outweigh the losses.

Looks like I am going to leave it in then. Better for the earth that is already suffering significantly due to the ever increasing rate of global warming. Just think, it is mid-January in Maryland and there are 70 degree days. WTF, I'll bet we will rarely see snow ever again around here. It really sucks.

Anyway, thanks for the sudden burst of replies and the input.

I'll keep y'all posted. wink1.gif

^^^ Yeah, I gotta do that for sure. Probably going to be the perfect power prs4 or the haltech e6k. I gotta pay off the gram lights first though, lol.

Thanks guys.

Yea, dont even bother removing the cat..I think thats pretty stupid in general. I think that if you can afford standalone its one of the best things to have. Good luck with everything!

Thanks, I am not even considering removing the cat anymore, its nice not to have to work on the car all the time. Even though I like tinkering around with it, its good to have a break for a change.

Anyway, there probably won't be a standalone coming for about 3-4 months seeing that I have built up $6000 worth of credit card debt 02.gif . I am very set on paying it off and getting rid of 2 out of the 3 cards though so no major purchases until that occurs.

Thanks again for everyones support and feedback, I'll be sure to keep any new info posted up. smile.gif

Building a couple of N/A RD2's myself, this is interesting.

My car is also having O2 sensor troubles also. I have beeen having these trouble for a while.
The car seems to run great still just has a CEL. I really wish I could get rid of it. I extended & soldered the main harness for the O2 sensor after the cat, I wonder if I should move the first O2 sensor from the header primary to the collector. I used Bosch sensors from Carquest and already had them warrantied out twice so odds are the sensors are/were good.I have checked the connections several times as well as the wires and everything is wired correct.
Some people have had success with those manual O2 sensor simulators. I'll try them as well.
I thought of unhooking the bulb from the CEL, however it would be nice to know what is going on if something serious ever comes up. Of course with it being on constantly I can't tell if anything else is failing anyways.
If I do get everything else changed and I still have troubles I'll get a set of fatory Hyundai O2 sensors.
I am at a loss, I do not know what else to do.

I do have a scan tool, and I can watch the O2 sensors. I can see the voltages and such, but have no data to compare them too.

My codes were/are:

O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 heater defaulty &
O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 circuit voltage low

It's been a couple months since I pulgged it in but I believe I had these same 2 codes for the bank 1 sensor 2 as well.

The codes are being erased correctly and fully when I clear them with the scan tool.
The scan tool is the Matco 'Determinator' which is a $5,000.00 system with the current software, so it is a professional system.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I even powered them with a wire directly from the battery while running and still got the same codes. I thought maybe somehow the wire was broke somewhere or something. I got the same readings.

Sorry about the long post I didn't mean to hijack your thread or anything.

I get bank 1 sensor 1 fault codes and low/high voltage codes. Don't know why considering my wideband is always reading around 14-15:1 at cruise or 12.5-13:1 at WOT right where I want my a/f ratios.

The misfires are always going to plague me due to the cams and the idle. If I went standalone I could richen the idle mixture some and smooth it out a bit, but then I wouldn't be dealing with the CEL anyway, lol.

Don't know if you guys checked up on the who's the fastest thread, but I pulled a 14.61 @ 95.95 a couple weeks ago with a 2.27 60'. Might be able to get into the 13's with slicks up front cool.gif .

I found I was running very rich when my bank 1 sensor was in the cylinder 4 primary.

After I relocated it to the collector the car has run much better.

Good luck with your buildups. What are your goals for hp and 1/4 mile?
