cf hatches for the rd are limited to what's left on private sales. good luck getting someone to make new ones you'll need a lot of rd owners to front the money to pay for production at current CF prices...

OR

get your car into the low 11's and contact Chris about a CF hatch. seemed to get the GK into 10's, lol. why wouldn't it work for you! wink1.gif J/K.

Because the beta is tried and true, the weak points are known and easily corrected. Shes a beast, when a company is looking for real performance they go with the beta.

Heres a similar case, would you want the v6 out of a 2000 eclipse or the 4g63 from a 99?

BTW here is the run straight from the site, its not the 10.7 run that he must have ran in round 2, because they dont list the time for a run that was fouled

FYI, look what class he's in fing02.gif

wait im kinda confused

wouldnt the v6 yield more power in the end? and same with the mitsu.. granted the 4G63 is an amazing motor... wouldnt the V6 give more power under the same mods? I mean im just going by the fact that it has more displacement? .. im prolly gonna get flamed hardcore for this =P ... prepared

If all the parts in a motor are the same strength, etc. then a larger displacement motor will make more power.

In the case of the 4G63T and the Beta, in comparison to the V6 motors, they handle boost better because of the materials they are made out of (Both the 4G63T and the Beta = cast iron block can handle more boost than the aluminum block of the Delta). Little things like that. Sometimes even things like rods/pistons are stronger in the smaller motors than in the bigger ones.

In short, sometimes its cheaper to make 250-350whp (basically the most you can run daily in FWD) with an I4 then with a V6, especially since the larger displacement motors cost more out of the box.

And in both cases with the V6's your walking a path that hasnt been beaten nearly as much as the beta and the 4g63.

And a turbo I-4 is sooooo much easier to deal with compared to a v-6, one exhaust manifold, intake manifold isnt on the top, spark plugs take 5 minutes to change, tearing off the head is about 4x easier, etc etc etc

All of these things are nice on a race car where things are constantly needing inspection/replacing.

They did use the GK, they should have used the RD since its lighter, but the whole point was to get publicity for the parts they make, and they want to sell them for the GK, so they use a GK.
