dont get me wrong

i have raced other people before i raced a 350z that belongs to a guy at my work just the other day i really am starting to see what Redzmang is talkin about though it really isnt worth it you get a temp thrill for what 30 secs then it goes away big woop ive played halo games that were more exciting than last night

usually its like a fluke that people are there on streets and they piss me off or somethin and road rage machisimo comes out or im just bored and wanna show off but i never actually go out and look for races i have calmed down alot since my first trip to the track back in october

i do speed though dont get me wrong and jer speeding to the speed limit while not illegal here can get you thrown in jail for intimidation a friend of mine found out the hard way last night...i talked to a another friend who was with him

i wont lie. i do it, i cant go to the track very often. i drive spirited most of the time and i usually wont back down if somebody eggs me on. but i control myself. i dont usually exceed 90mph and once i beat them, i slow right back down. i dont race them for miles at a time. just the other day i had to teach some douche in an accord a lesson, i got ~three car lengths ahead of him and slowed down, he came flying past me but he knew i had him. i feel good when i do it and its better than any videogame; but then again you cant die or get in trouble with the law for playing a videogame, but thats part of the rush. call us stupid, i dont care, but i use precaution and dont do it excessively. Radar, focus, and self control are what i use to come home everyday in once piece.

honestly, i love the thrill for the little bit of time. We have a few spots and we also race with a few cops. My car is slow, so i never drive my own. Up to date...i shift better than my friend so i have drove his past three cars when we go out. 1997 Eagle Talon ESi..fully built turboed t3/t4 hybrid pushing 16lbs., 1996 Talon TSi AWD T3 super 60 pushing 15 lbs., 1991 nissan 240sx fully built KA24DET T3/T4 18 lbs.

It's fun for the time being but there are alot of risks but that is life. Have fun with it and if something happens, you pay the price.

that's wierd that you can get in trouble for revving your engine. howcome you can rev your engine in a beater and not a hot car??

what if you're revving your engine because you just feel it, or you're showing off to your freinds what it sounds like, or simply because your gas pedal is stuck on the carpet! i don't get it!

i see ricers out there not getting pulled over for driving cars that sound terrible!!! cops are just in it for the powertrip... that's why i love when they check me out and they have nothing on me. n a d a!!

It's illegal but it doesn't mean that they gonna get you for doing it. Many things that we do are not legal.

I'm at about 200 a month with two cars. My primary car is a 65 as opposed to my tib being my main car. Otherwise It'd be 214 a month just for the Tib, and thats with a virtually flawless record. None of my little incedents, have been recorded so I'm good and not gonna pay out 400 a month like dumb little california kids.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hamhead)</div><div class='quotemain'>I actually asked a VA State Trooper when he came to my Business Law class (Ham = wants to be a lawyer tongue.gif). He said you could go as fast as you wanted to the speed limit when I layed out the scenario for him. laugh.gif You need to move to VA. tongue.gif</div>

That trooper better brush up on the law. Either that or he's the first cop that doesn't love to bust people in fast-looking cars. You can and will be charged with reckless driving in VA. Any form of racing, and that means it's up to the cop to decide, can be ticketed as reckless driving. Even just two cars revving at a stoplight. Even two cars that look fast but aren't racing, and one of them takes off fast; the other one speeding up like a granny can get reckless. That's all it takes for a $500 fine and license suspension up to six months.

Lots of examples on the Drag VA forums, which are populated by a bunch of immature idiots, so I don't feel sorry for their whining. But sometimes, people with fast cars who really weren't racing get royally screwed.

One Two Three Number three was pretty unfair. Dozens more on that site.

I'll admit to racing a few times on the street, although rarely over the limit and not in high traffic or urban areas. But nine times out of ten I don't, it's just not worth the risk. My insurance is guaranteed to increase 400% with a reckless ticket.

FInally, ticket prices have gone up this year. It's now $200 for a speeding ticket plus $5 per mile over plus court fee. Also: illegal exhaust, tint, suspension and lights are all $91 fines now. Oh, and any non-stock exhaust is illegal in VA. Finally, even an empty bottle of nitrous not hooked up is illegal.
