Hrmm, not too familiar with the xbox yet, but is there an option for enabling DHCP or automatically obtain IP?

I can not see a router not letting the XBox work so I have to disagree with that site redz.

Set the xbox to automatically obtain IP address (easiest way to set up the routing). Find which IP the router assigned to the xbox (login to the router and look for connected devices). Try pinging the xbox (via command prompt using PING xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <- whatever the xbox's IP is). Next, set the router's single static IP to the xbox (this will set the XBox to the external IP). Restart the xbox (and disconnect the lan connection). Try having someone ping the XBox from accross the internet. If this works, try using xbox live again.

If at any step you can not ping the xbox, let us know when.

If you need help with any of the steps, let me know.

Casper, not his router, his MODEM. That is the problem in the link.

Quest has the same problem with their DSL modem, it just doesn't work with Xbox Live, no matter what. I'd do what he said above, make sure your router is set to give out seperate IP's to each connected device, and if you can't get that to work and are waiting for Casper to reply, call sprint and tell them that...

A. You got the DSL to play Xbox Live.

B. You currently cannot still play xbox Live.

C. You want a different modem.

D. You want it NOW.

Like Red said earlier make sure your ISP has the MAC address from the modem instead of your comp. Once your ISP uses the modems MAC address you should be fine.
Number two make sure on your router your allowing other MAC address other than your comps. I am running same router as you so I know its compatible I even have router firewalls setting running mine even has hacked firmware on it.. DMZ has nothing to do with you not connecting.

Ok I did the static IP in the settings for the router which gave me two new errors 02.gif(with my ICS connection). I undid the ICS connection and rehooked the xbox to the router and tried again, I got the same error(cannot continue do to technical difficulties), I tried with PPPoE and without.

I tried pinging the xbox and got nothing.

I am going to call sprint and see if it's the modem.

Your internet setup will remain what your isp requires if you look down you make the router a dhcp server. Make sure in your advance routing your router says Gateway. And make sure your cloning your pc mac address for the router. Only other things I can think of.
