Also the save on the penalty shot was quite impressive also. (Only penaltly kick saved by a keeper during WC so far)
Not anymore. Last night Sweden's goalie stopped one against Argentina. His teammate did follow it up for a goal, but he did save the initial shot. I can't believe Argentina is gone. They were favorites and they didn't even get to 16.

hahahahahaha france is out of the world cup....stupid frenchie bastards! Zinidane Zidane can rot in hell, i hate that bastard with all my heart, the only reason i could possibly lile Real Madrid is becuase of Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos! Zidane needs to die soon, i've hated his 6 foot 8 ass ever since 98 when he took down my team in the final. France sucks, they were never any good. Brazil is the team this year, they will win everything just watch!

I don't think anything can stop the Spaniards.

My picks for the quarter finals are:

Spain, Germany, Brazil, and (some sorry team no one expects)

I know it is a weeee-bit off topic, but is the EA Sports FIFA World Cup game good? If it's worth my 50 bucks, I'll get it. God, I remember FIFA 93 where when you got a yellow card you could run from the ref and he would give you a red card... I was LOL for a week.

Mexico plays Italy at 6:30 (central) tomorrow morning. Right now Mexico is tearing up Group G, hopefully they can sweep it! Hopefully Mexico is Group G #1, and USA is Group D #2, then they can play in the 16. wink

Im hoping US first of all makes it, then is able to play mexico or croatia. Croatia because they are slow and didnt look good at all in the Mexico game. Mexcio because US knows that team better than any in the tournament.

They may know Mexico better than anybody else but they also lose to Mexico more than anybody else!

I understand that also has something to do with playing in Azteka Stadium in Mexico. It makes it VERY difficult to play in because of its high altitude and searing heat.

Figo played a decent game against the Poles and even though his ankle is bothering him I expect him to have a great game, as well as Pauletta.... who scored a hat-trick last game. Xavier Abel should also be back on defence. He is Portugal's best D-man!

As much as I wanted to see the U.S. advance, I don't any more! GO POLAND!!! and before I forget...

GO PORTUGAL!!!!!

The thing that gets me hot is the 2 most important games in the G bracket are at the same time (6:00 and 6:30 Central)!

Croatia vs Ecuador
Mexico vs Italy

To top it off, I have to be to work @ 7:00 Central time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Italy/Mexico game will have the most impact on the bracket, but the Croatia game will determine if Hrvatska advances or not........ eek!

The rest of the teams that confirmed places are pretty much in the notion of what I expected. Although I didnt expect the US to be this good, I'll be rooting for them all the way

Easy tiger, I am a little upset myself as they unfairly (IMHO) josted my team (Croatia) out of the final game of the 1998 World Cup, but not as far as to wanting to kill someone or evern thinking about it! Take a few asprin and get a good night sleep

The same is true for Portugals group. But I believe that FIFA did this on purpose for the last games of each group. It keeps the level of play up. Teams could find out that they have already advanced becase of one of the morning games and rest their entire starting line-up.

By having the last games of the group at the same time ensures that all teams will be playing to win! No matter what the results are in the other game. I think it's a good idea.

But I do know what you mean about the whole work thing. I've heard that the U.S. is going to apply for the 2012 W.C. Is there any truth to this?
