Although I'm pretty sure Korea won't win, here's an interesting thing I heard on PTI, 4 of the last 7 winners were the home team. Is that true? I missed stat boy, so I don't know if it is.
But, if I remember right even the USA team played decent when it was here. I'm not saying Korea will win it all, but they did win their fist cup game ever. Mexico plays tomorrow morning!

For all of those that watched the 98 World Cup, you all know Croatia is a firm and healty canaidate for the title. People said Italy was going to upset Croatia because of their great team, but guess what:

Yes, 4-0 is not a bad record but let's get real here!
The win should be considered to be a gift from the linesman and referee.
Italy had a late goal called off by the assistant referee, sparking protests from the Italian players and coach Giovanni Trapattoni, who stormed off the field at the conclusion.
"We had some bad luck today. The linesman more than the referee penalized Italy," Christian Vieri said. "He voided goals without any reason.
That is true.
It was a joke to have those goals taken away. And the truth is that even with your good record against Italy you havn't seen a cup final in Croatia's history. You won't see one this year either. tongue.gif
The last World Cup shouldn't prove anything about Croatia's chances this year. From what I understand this years team is VERY different from the last World Cup Team. A little younger and less experienced. Where was Suker?

True, the ref's and linesman did appear to be in Cro's favor, but they prevailed and Italy didnt whine that much. I think the goals should have been counted as well.Yes, 4-0 is not a bad record but let's get real here!

One thing about not seeing any World Cup titles in Croatias hand is because the 1998 World Cup was their first one! They could of been in the 1994 WC but they were still struggling to rebound from the War that gave them their independance in 1991.
Why wont you see one this year?
They made record after record in the 98 WC, and lost to France by guess this, Ref's and Linesmen in Frances favor
The team this year is half younger, but has the 98 WC team to mentor them. Suker wasnt in that game cause he dragged ass in the Mexico game. Jarni and a few others from the 98 WC were playing last night, hence why they were able to take Italy for the 5 time since 1998.
All they need to do is tie Ecuador in their last game to move on to the next round.
