I have been waiting for this site to take a more "motorsports" approach to discussion and tiburons in general.
If you guys want, we can RE ADD a Motorsports forum, and have a drag racing and autoX/Road Course subforum in it. We used to have it, but they weren't used much. With the site moving on and more folks getting into it, they may be used more.

What do you mean "Re-add" the section? It's always been here.
I've been saying this for a while. Not a lot of people here race. Thousands of Tibs, and only 20 or so dynos and timeslips. Shame.... Why buy the mods if you don't intend to use them?

I'd love to take mine out on the track sometime just to have some fun in, since I've never done anything like that, but I wouldn't even know where to go around here TBH.
Not sure where you're located, but the Detroit region has a very active and large group. If you're closer to Southern Michigan/northern Indiana the Ft. Wayne region and South Bend region both have active auto-x's. I am planning on hitting a Ft Wayne solo this summer some time. Not wure which one yet.
It's either www.scca.org or www.scca.com and you can find a local region to you. Can't remember which, and work blocks them both.
You don't have to be a member to run the solo's. Usually it costs a little more per visit ($35 instead of $25). I believe national dues just went up, they are now at $100. But volunteering to work clubraces and such qualify you for membership dues reimbursement. If I work both days at both events this year I only pay $20 for dues. I'd probably work them anyway, I love to watch road racing!

I just joined the campus FSAE team (small scale Formula racing) here. It just started, so we have to design and build the car, but I'm hoping to be a driver too. Those formula cars are crazy quick!! 100ish hp with under 500lbs weight is nuts. Unfortunately there's a restrictor on the air intake, so max speed is under 60. But 0-40 time is absurdly fast.
Really looking forward to it!

Cool! I'm in my campus' FSAE since a year now. Are you going to the Detroit competition in may? Which school are you from? And just to make things clear, the 20mm restriciton is there to restrict horsepower output, and not speed. Top speed has to do with gearing and not the power of the engine wink1.gif
I'm actually going to VATech for a week of testing on spring break with their FSAE team because the weather there is milder than in the north where we are.
Racing is the shit!
