I would to if my car still ran 16's. lmao.gif
Hey. . . I represent that comment! nana.gif I do hope to break into the 15's this year. I ran a 16.01 at 89mph about a year ago with a slipping clutch. That got fixed. So a 15.99 would make me smile! I mean, I am driving a $12k Korean econobox that weighs 2800lbs. . . how much can I expect!

Doesn't matter. I've been in plenty of "fast" cars, and fast + straight is boring. My dad has had some very fast cars, and I've driven them very fast, and they are boring, if there is no turning involved.
It's like Nascar, BORING. Formula 1 Grand Prix? Exciting.
I have no idea what my car runs, could be sub 16's, and I'd expect it to be considering that the RD1 I had was running 16's up here with no exhaust work. 16's at this altitude are usually 15's elsewhere. Doesn't matter. I go to the drag strip to see the guys race now and then, and it's just boring as f***.
Now, get me goingup the mountain during the ABQ BBQ? Heh.

You're right, when I do that in my Z, I'm going to yawn in boredome while looking at the sky.
Or maybe I should take a hard left after doing that. That will add some excitement to it.

Ooo, I do. I do.
I have been waiting for this site to take a more "motorsports" approach to discussion and tiburons in general.
Unfortunetely I have not tracked the tib in over a year (missed out all last season). I started out with AutoX in the PNW and got bored picking up cones..
Moved up to events with the Nat'l Auto Sports Association (NASA) on tracks like Pacific Raceways (my home track) in Auburn, WA; Port Angeles Speedways (an amazing track that I recomend for anyone within driving distance); and Evergreen Speedway.
I moved to Arizona and teamed with NASA here, Racing twice a month back and forth between Phoenix International (woohoo, Nascar banking!) and Firebird Raceway (East and Main). NASA-AZ's "rivals" (long story..) CRA (Club Racing Arizona) sorta took over/merged and they went back to their ghey rules..
I guess it was a blessing in disguise because my old buddies from NASA-AZ convinced me to make the treks to S. Cali for Race Events and I was for quite some time. I got free track time on Buttonwillow, Cal Speedway, Laguna, Infinion, and Willow Springs.
Current vehicle, 1973 bmw 2002 tii (still with the original Kugelfischer fuel injection!) with some upgrades.
Oh and if you want to experience the "500" of Road Racing, make it to the NASA Nationals this year. The beer garden is better! wink1.gif

Nice! A real road racer! Well, it looks like we need to just "make our own" addition to the forum. LAter on, I'll start a thread on the progress of the season. Hopefully you'll keep us updated.
I race 1\4 mile at the cayuga dragstip in the street class.
I'm running 15.4 with little mods, but when you bracket race (slower car gets a head start) it keeps things a little more interesting. It feels good to put a 12 second mustang on the trailer because he doesn't know how to cut a good light, and if you get lucky you might bring home a couple hundred dollers.(Finshed 5th at the end of the season)

I'd love to take mine out on the track sometime just to have some fun in, since I've never done anything like that, but I wouldn't even know where to go around here TBH.
