i just saw the video last night and it's about the dumbest law ever. Don't thease dumbasses know that any car is eligible for a street race? A car doesn't have to be modded to race nor does it have to be fast, they would have to crush damn near every car in the world. Just last week i saw a corrola weaving thru traffic and cutting people off, he wasn't racing i think it was a time attack!! laugh.gif

Here's an idea: DON'T STREET RACE.

I'm not worried about it. I don't associate with dumb kids who drive their civics as if they are ferraris. I drive my car normally, although it looks suped up. As a matter of fact, a couple months ago, OPP was doing seatbelt checks along the QEW. The officer was very respectful to me, because I was honest with her, showed her everything under my hood and explained to her that at this point, especially now that I'm in school, the car is a point a to point b car. She let me off with a notice to get my blown exhaust fixed, which was fixed a week later, and should have been a long time ago.

Point is, if you act like a dumbass, disrespect cops and everyone around you, and drive like a moron, you absolutely deserve your car to be crushed. What sucks is that the dumbasses like these two morons are ruining it for everyone else. Unfortunately, there are dumb kids everywhere. I'm hoping that law enforcement will be smart enough to tell the difference between dumb kids and mature aldults who have a true passion for cars. I think a lot of this law is scare tactics. I really don't believe they're gonna go around and crush every modified car there is. If they do, that would have to include old guys driving muscle cars as well. And I don't see that happening.

As for Hyundai Sunday, a group of us got pulled over last year. But after questioning all of us, they let us go. So, I wouldn't worry about it this year either. Just drive normally and you'll be fine.

i think it's a good idea to punish anyone who races on the street but it's going a little overboard crushing cars, i say they crush the people doing the racing thats my solution.

I think they should only crush the car after the person has been convicted, or if there is proof that they were racing, such as witnesses. I wonder how much it costs the government to store and crush these cars?

Crushing the car is a fit punishment for those caught in the act. They should not be able to use the fact that there are aftermarket modifications alone to sieze the car, which appears to be how the law was written.

Dont get me wrong, racing should not be done on the street, but they shouldnt be able to confiscate my car and crush it beasue it doesnt look stock, especially if there are no formal charges for racing involved

They wont even insure a car with a carbon fibre hood round here !!....Its weight reduction, therefore it goes faster,so its now a modded car!!..God forbid your car is shaved !! Around here our main problem is not street racing!, Here the problem is kids stealing cars and killing people with them, and going free because theyre juveniles mad.gif

I'm sorry but... it'd be impossible to enforce this law in most of the USA, if not Canada as well.
If this ever happened to FL (knowing my luck, x-years down the road when I get my turbo it'll happen)
I'd run from the cops. I don't street race BUT guilt by association. Limited street racing does go
on from the car club spot I go to on Thurs nights. Yea, every once and awhile I go fast but
I try to limit it as much as possible. I can't afford a ticket or to waste gas.

IMHO, this and Cali's law - its gay as sh!t.

Either way, this is yet another reason I'm keeping my car registered and insured in NY. I pay $90 a month to insure my car, they have never even looked at the damn thing, it's a different color than what they think it is, and I get a discount for ABS despite the fact that I don't have it. And they gave me lots of money when I totalled my car. smile.gif

Seriously guys, if you drive normally and dont act like a jackass, you should be fine.
