Is it just me, or does this happen to you guys... You'll be nicely driving along in your beautiful little shark, then all of a sudden you see a car coming up real fast behind you in your rear-view mirror, and then vroom they switch into the other lane and cut you off. Or I'll be driving home from any activity and someone just can't bear to be behind me on the road, so they switch lanes, we both sit at the red light and then they screech forward as if I'm street racing. This happens to me frequently at night also, I think it's because of the tiburons tail lights, it makes the car look very aggressive.

BEWARE of ford explorers, those things will kill a tiburon if contact is made. A few months ago, an explorer rear-ended me from a stop light and I had to get a whole new bumper and tail lights, and he hadn't even started going fast yet. I got out of the car and almost killed the guy. My sister who was with me asked him if any damage happened to his car, and his response was ,"I think my license plate is a little bent." Anyhooo, I have never had this type of disrespect from other drivers than I've had with this car. Is it my paranoia?! You tell me.

Other cars don't come up behind me, cut me off, or speed off at a red light... I do that to them!!

I usually drive 170miles between home and school... usually every other weekend or so. On the trip back, it is very rare for somebody to pass me. I'm a very aggressive driver, but usually safe. I'm always checking my mirrors and knowing where the cars are around me.

I accidently rolled while at a traffic light, and tapped the truck in front of me. It was an OLD 89 s10 pickup... well, his license plate basically ripped my hood/front bumper to piece. My hood was jack-knifed and even tore up my fans because of the bumper messing up. It was a little 2MPH crawl at the most... like when your foot's on the brake but not pushing hard enough...

I read at one time that the Tiburon is one of the top 5 most expensive cars to repair. I guess it's because they mess up so easily ;-/ one thing happens and it causes 5 other things to mess up

Back on topic.
Yes that happens to me, usually in the evening or at night. Especially on the highway, a little honda will race up behind me, pull along side, check out the car, and speed off. I just let off the gas, and let them go. They are usually young punks who don't know how to dive yet, and I wouldn't risk having them sideswipe me while checking out my ride. I think a lot of it comes from the odd shape of our cars. Most people don't know what it is.

I couldn't agree more. And having the body kit makes so many more people revv... I don't know if it's to initiate a race or just to say Nice Car... I've gotten both ;-/

I would not call the tib a disposable car... I did rip the back bumper off of an Eagle Premeir a couple of years ago with only some scuffing of the paint on the bumper, a couple of scratches across the passenger headlight, and a broken mount on the same headlight...

I have a 97 tiburon and that happens to me alot. I will just be going down the road especially at night and some random person will fly up behind me. I usually pull on the slow lane to let them pass. The driver usually scopes out my car and then guns his car. If it's some lil ricer I know I could beat I will usually floor the gas and pass him to show my beta is faster than whatever he is driving, then i slow back down.

I had a lady in an old taurus wagon pull a stunt today.. she came up behind me on the bridge into Ocean City where I live... two lanes either direction.. I am against the guardrail doing 45 in a 40 zone.. she was doing about 50 and there was nobody around us for half a mile.. she got right up within about five feet of my back bumper without slowing down.. then hit her signal and pulled over to the inside "fast" lane.. as she passed, I watched her glance over her shoulder at me and my car.. and then she sped off..

I do not play on the streets.. and I definatly do not play with idiots.. This was an older lady, I can hope she did not think I was cute or something.
