Figure out the math. Take a Chevy Impala or Caprice. Do some weight reduction for the rear seats and other things. Then add in all the gear in the trunk and the radio. Then remember that they have Corvette Lt1's in some of them, or even LS1's. Then remember if your trying to outrun a cop. Interceptor and pursuit package. Which means they can go faster then you. And they can hit curbs at over 75 miles an hour and do no damage.
