^great find! i was watching discovery and they said that there's so much that hasn't been uncovered yet. south american jungles have a vivid history underneath all of that bush. they're using infrared waves from satellite to locate structures.

my backyard was part of a farm during and before the Civil War. my Dad said when he bought the house in the 1970's, there used to be a rotten abandoned conestoga wagon, and a large rotten barn with stables, lots of saddles and harnesses with metal tools and such, and a pre Civil War Estate on the farm. i found a rusted old bullet in the ground too! there are chunks of coal in the ground from winters. a German settler lived here. he was friends with General Ulysses S. Grant. Grant would come here and station his army here.
the "estate" is still here. the government bought and restored it, but you can barely see it. why? shortly after my dad bought our house, developers came in and tore the farm up. the whole area is crowded with matchbox townhouses with obnoxious people and gangs. it's pretty sad. i only wonder how nice it must have been, and how as the time passes, these pretty eras just rotted out of existence.
