its a slippery slope, maybe the children now will be protesting black box civil liberty infringements in the year 2030.







this seems to be for data collection only right now, but i have heard insurance agencys offering discounts for people who willingly use an OBD II data collector. i suspect that is or was the "Guinea pig" test demographic to see if this could work.

exactly. my friend had one and showed it to me. it's a small devide that hangs from your OBD port and sends them data. it was pretty much a scam, i'm guessing to sell those devices. they lowered his insurance for the first year. then raised it back up after that even with it on. sound familiar? (cell phone plan, Verizon Fios). they're guinea pigs alright. companies like Lockheed Martin did this exact thing with the speed cameras. Now Lockheed solely provides them to the government.
