NEED SOME MORAL SUPPORT, FROM FELLOW OWNERS!!!
Because buying parts for the BMW is fricken expensive, your insurance will more than likely go up, it's very expensive to buy aftermarket parts..more so than the norm, and it's tough to get ahold of parts on short notice. When I had mine, I had to order everything cause AutoZone and O'Reily's did not cary anything for it (the nearest dealership was 35miles away). I will never buy another BMW because of this.

which BMW do you work at? Habberstadt?
If you do get a BMW, at least get an M3. Don't settle for no sissy Z3. Those things are dumb.

Actually i work at Rallye BMW in roslyn! and the M3 sucks!!! and its a Z4 not Z3!!!! its ALLLLLL about the M5! old and new!

First, no 10 second Tiburon is going to be street-legal. So no uber-fast Tibby for Johnny. Secondly, I wouldn't give any kid a car you dropped 10gs into. I'm 17, and I drive 3 cars. You don't want to know the hell I've put through my GSX. I'm usually nice to the 'Vette and Tibby, but even if your kid tells you hes not beating on it, trust me, he will. lol.gif Tibs may be ugly in 16 years you never know. lol.gif
Now... hard to compare a Tib to a BMW. Most BMWs outdrive Tibbies in every way. More power, more luxurious, better handling in most instances.

I hope my child beats the piss out of that car, its gonna be built up for power!!!
EDIT***
I wanna thank everyone in here for actually responding to my "cry for help", it really does mean a lot!! Thank you all
You do realize a 10second car's engine lasts about 5k miles if that. smile.gif I know we all want to give our children sick cars, but they have to be ready for 'em first. I practically tricked my parents into the GSX. lol.gif I dug the Corvette out of my Dad's shop and fixed that, and then I bought the Tibby for daily driving. I've nearly killed myself several times... I would never let my children drive what I've driven. tongue.gif 350whp is a lot faster than you think. And I run 12.6s with AWD. A 10 second Tibby would be nearly 700whp and totally unstreetable.
But back on topic, I think the Z4s look awesome. I'd get one of those. They look real nice. Sort of remind me of a Tibby two door convertible. lol.gif

the M3 isnt that fast, its actually dissapointing!!! but the M5 leaves NO ROOM for dissapointment its 400hp dominates the road. 333hp in the M3 doesnt do too much cause its so heavy, so it only feels like 200-220hp car!
every go look for a M COUPE ROADSTER!!!!! not an M3 coupe!
BMWs are nice cars... My old man's got a nice silver 540i & he canes the shit out of it! It's pretty quick for such a big car!
Porsche, Audi, BMW, VW... You can hardly go wrong. The Germans sure do make quality cars!
I reckon go for the Bimmer man, if that's what you want... The Z4 though... Not a fan of the looks of the M coupe roadster.
Personally I'd go for a 2nd hand Boxter (you could get a decent one for about the same money as the Z4) then mod that! Niiiiiice!!

hey guys, i need some help. I dont know how many of you know, but i work for BMW, and i drive bmws all day everyday, and at the end of the day i have to get into my Tiburon. Now I love my Tiburon, i have a lot of plans and about 10g's to drop into it, but its getting harder and harder everyday to keep driving my car. I've been thinking of buying a BIMMER, either a Z4 or an M Coupe Roadster. So i'm asking for some help, convice me why i should keep my tibby. Now i know none of u prob care if i keep my car or not, but its a BIG deal for me. I planned on giving my 10 sec, showcar tib to my son(or daughter) so they would have the COOLEST car in school... please help.......
Sup, I am in kind of a reverse predicament to yourself actually, but the last few weeks have yielded a few insights which I would like to share. In Australia I own a Lancer Evolution VI which will soon be dedicated to track duty, and performace wise, even though it is an incredible machine, I feel that these "supercars" feel like empty shells; the JZA80 TT that I also previously owned was quick, but again it felt souless. Both these vehicles are basically sporting thoroughbreds, and they may be the stuff of "legend," but they are driver's cars and not owner's cars. By "driver," I mean one who competes, and by "owner," I mean one who at a certain level bonds with the vehicle, understands it and all its little naunces.
My mom recently traded her Sonata in for a Tucson, and it is perhaps the most fun I have had on four wheels in a while. It has its quirks, but it was fun learning them, and understanding them. In contrast, the Evo, as it stands now has almost no technical weaknesses to pick on, and that in itself is the fault: these vehicles are perfect. They have to be, because they were engineered to be world-beaters, and they are. However, being perfect makes them extremely boring; the VI won't let go of the road unless you put it on gravel, and its devastating power delivery means that you'll make mincemeat of almost anything with an equal or less capable driver. No room for that X-factor, you know what the car will do and won't do.
However, with the Tucson, it's bouncy, it's big, and it's a boatload of fun! So what if it's "just" 142hp VS the track car's very-possible 520+bhp? So what if it's FWD and automatic? So what if it's an SUV? I have had more fun in this vehicle in the last 5 weeks than I have had driving the monster on the road in the last year! Why? The monster is too business-like, and the Tucson is basically a question waiting to be answered, what can it really do, what are its limits and how do you get there? It's geared short, at least this version is, and it topped out on the Malaysian highways at 140. Threw away a couple of turns, bang, 170! Backroad fun, enter hard, brake hard, and pray that it holds on, it did!
That's the X-factor I'm talking out bro, a car needs to have a few questions about it to be fun, they need to have some weaknesses to them, there have to be some quirks and naunces for them to be fun, because as soon as you stop learning about it, you might as well sell it because it'll never be fun again.
I guess that's why we modify cars, to keep learning about them; with every new bit that we put on we learn somthing new, whether it be technical, mechanical, theoretical or whatever, and we learn how to use the sum of parts, and we keep learning to use them in different ways in street, drag, drift and circuit. I didn't know that the Jag in front of me last week was an X-Type until the gap closed, and I didn't know that the Tucson had what it took to close the gap, only through trying was it possible, making mistakes, going against the vehicle's grain, understanding and learning on the fly, now that was fun! The Tibby you have now is that bro, a learning experience, and for it to truly be yours you should try to do the work yourself, at least the bolt-on parts, and test the car and understand it every time it takes on a new form, that way the fun never stops, the learning never ends, and you'll gain so much from it that in the end you might now want to part with it.
