For anyone else in the same boat as me, the network proxy idea worked like a charm! I browsed through a few proxies, and the one that stood out the most from the others was freeproxy. Just as its name implies, it's free, it's invisible on the server, and it gets the friggin job done! Thanks to everyone who helped out! Now I'm able to slack at work again!
