I think it was a very good suggestion, and I haven't seen anyone disagree with it.

I know I've heard of Vermont Teddy Bears, I think they're well known, and Maryland people should recognize them.

got 'em both, loneshark and peter.

I agree Eric, anything we send will be greatly appreciated by Chris and his family. I received a few PMs before java started this thread asking if I knew of a way to help out, and I'm glad we've had so many people wanting to contribute and send something to this family while they're going through such a hard time.

Thanks for the donation Regit.

Does anyone want to type something up for the sympathy card? I'm not great at writing compassionate sympathy cards and prefer someone else to give it a try. I'll sign it 'Hyundai Community'

Also, I think doing "Baked Goods" might be better than chocolates or fruit. Here's the product description:

"Send this enormous mouthwatering selection of Cheryl&Co.'s award-winning fresh-baked treats to friends or business associates and make a delicious impression! A handsome, flat woven handled basket includes 12 cake slices in flavors such as lemon and macadamia pineapple, 24 cookies in flavors such as chocolate frosted and oatmeal raisin, 12 frosted cut-out cookies, 8 gold ivory star shortbread cookies, and much more. The basket arrives with a white ribbon with your personal message in gold lettering. Choose from Thank You, Deepest Sympathy, or blank for everyday gifting. Measures 18"H x 18"W x 23"L."

I'm going to go ahead and order the Baked Goods basket and the floor plant today, since shipping doubles if I wait. If we don't get enough money for the Vermont Teddy Bear, I'll cover the cost to make sure they get it. That was a good idea Sparticus.

Anyone have something they think would be appropriate for the sympathy card?

Considering This:
We are deeply sorry for your loss, and will continue to have your family in our prayers.
