Cyber, I think you are forgetting something though.
1. The Delta wouldn't fit in the RD2 engine bay.
2. It's almost 2 times as heavy.
3. You'd only get a marginal, at best, increase in HP. Like 30 HP. But doubling the weight? Hell no.
I so wish that they had continued the RD2 for a few more years, and I can't wait for the Theta to come out.
With the way Hyundai builds things, we can prolly put one in.

1. We do not condone or endorse street racing here.
2. If you do it, lie and say it was on the track or something. THIS SITE COULD BE CLOSED for glamorizing that crap.
3. GK's suck. End of discussion.
4. RD = Ownez joo!
No, REDZ won't lock this one, some DECENT discussion came out of it for once. Please though, be vauge where and when.

LMAO, redz is in his style smile.gif
GK's dont suck, its a matter of personal oppinion. I just came back from a track and saw 5-6gks, 3rds(incluiding mine) and those gks were doin 14's at the track on stock wheels smile.gif
RDs are great cars and since there isnt that many of them outthere, i consider them somewhat unique, thats y o owe one and want to modify it smile.gif

Yeah, they do bro. The ONLY thing that got better with the GK's is the Valve Cover. That's it. The outside looks nice, but better than an RD2? Not in my opinion. It looks great, but it's SO different, there is no contest.
As for 14's? What modifications did they have done, what engines? THis would be the first time I've EVER heard of a GK breaking below 16's stock.
Well, you said it yourself, its your opinion smile.gif everyone thinks differently smile.gif
I personally don't like the way RD2 looks because of its headlights, but once again its a matter of opinion smile.gif
One of them had Injen intake ( sits inside the engine bay), exhaust, MSD ignition upgrade, bigger powder coated IM, and some chip. he hit 14.8
another guy had exhaust, aem intake, chip, and bored and powder coated IM, he hit 14.94
not sure about the others

they accerlerate better in the upper RPM range, mainly because it has a larger displacement then a 4cyl.
NO.
Larger Displacement = More torque.
Torque makes up the LOWER part of the power band. HP is the upper.
Torque = Acceleration
HP = Top Speed.
Larger displacement and MORE CYLINDERS = slower throttle response.
More mass to move.
Our (BETA) engines raise revs quicker than the V6 Delta. Meaning we get INTO the peak portions of the Power band quicker than the Delta.
Torque = Acceleration
If a car had more torque, it will be able to accelerate a car more at a higher speed, when you put ur foot to the floor at a higher speed, its the TORQUE that will suck you into your seat and take off!
People who generalize are ghey... but since we are playing that game,...
DEATH TO THOSE LITTLE MOTORCYCLES!
Those f***ers beat me in my bike yO!
Anyways...
Some people like the GK, some the RD2, some the RD... to each their own, who cares.
Its not the car.. its the attitude of the driver. You see that on every site, not just hyundai sites. We have seen it a lot more with the new GK sites, compared to the old simply because their are more GKs.
This topic is pointless and just reminds me of some of the stupid beta vs delta threads i see on newtiburon.
Oh well.. shame on you guys.
Im going to trade my car in and buy a geo metro now.

1997.....
heres an example of a dyno graph.
This is for a stock 5.0L TVR Griffith. its a PERFECT example of the point I'm trying to make.
Your original statement of :
along with allblacks comment of :
In Response to the above statement :
No response to that yet.
and .....
^^This statement is correct....as long as you are talking about vehicle speed and NOT ENGINE SPEED, your original comment is still WRONG.
anyways, the proof :
The blue line is TORQUE, green is Horsepower.

now, this is just an example.....a dyno of a Beta or a delta will look much different, however there are some things that do not change regardless of what engine is used. like : THE DROP OFF OF TORQUE IN THE UPPER RPM RANGE.
Im done w/ this thread.....until either you (1997) or Allblack step up and show some PROOF for your statements.

Peak torque can come in down low, or up top, same with HP.

POWERBAND was the key word up there. You show me a dyno where the Peak horsepower comes BEFORE the torque peak (in relation to RPMs) and i MIGHT modify my statement.
No response to that yet.
