Oh...........just cause I race once in a big blue moon, doesn't mean that I'm encouraging it.I think every one (or most every one) here has their own mind and can decide on their own what's right for them.I just thought it'd be an interesting post,since it was the first time I really actually raced any one with this car.Most people around here (MD,DC,VA)could own me in a heart beat.

and to be honest with you there is nothing special, i raced a gt v6 6sp with aem cai and the guy was .4 seconds faster than me in 1/4 mile, with me having only wai and a header.....

Larger Displacement = More torque.

Torque makes up the LOWER part of the power band. HP is the upper.

Torque = Acceleration
HP = Top Speed.

Larger displacement and MORE CYLINDERS = slower throttle response.
More mass to move.

Our (BETA) engines raise revs quicker than the V6 Delta. Meaning we get INTO the peak portions of the Power band quicker than the Delta.

 

The stock GK six speed model runs around 15.9 in the quarter and a stock 5speed RD runs around a 16.3. So if you beat a six speed..and not an automatic..and if the driver in the other vehicle knows how to race, then you're doing pretty good.

People can't cope with the fact that the GK is better than the RD platform in almost every area.

If it were true that GK V6 extre HP doesn't make up for the extra couple of hundred pounds it would run a 16.8 1/4 mile now wouldn't it? Instead they run 15.7 ALL THE TIME in stock trim.

Madtib; if youre saying that youre AUTOTRAGIC 4 cylinder RD with only breathing/exhaling modifications stayed neck and neck with a V6 MANUAL 6SPD GK... all I can say is;

If anything the reason for this thread was to show people that a litely modded "autotragic" is not alot worse then a V6 GK.Also, I know most people will disagree,and that's okay,but if you know how to drive an automatic and work with it's limitations you can at least hang with the sticks.I've proven that with my automatic VW's.

 

what exactly you've done to your car? I have auto elantra with real CAI, 4-2-1 header, and full exhaust and the best i Run was 16.65 or something like that. Even if you were 16.65, which I doubt, you couldn't hang with him... he's almost a second faster than you in a 1/4 mile and on higher speed he'd rape you. I missed a fact that you have auto.... I OFFICIALLY RAISE THE BS FLAG!!!!!
