I wasn't born or raised anything. My parents never went to church, except every other year on Easter or something. I didn't have my beliefs until I was 17.
I graduated from a Nazarene University. I attend a Baptist church. I find several flaws with both. I don't adhere to any denomination, I just read the Bible and go from there. I do believe in God, Jesus, the Bible, and all that good stuff. I often find that I heavil disagree with many 'religious' viewpoints.
Just take care of the poor, don't hate, do what's morally right, and recognize God. That's what I believe the Bible asks for us to do.
I don't believe that my chosen beliefs fall into any denomination/cult/ideology that is commonly recognized. I just love Jesus.

My mom was raised Catholic and graduated from a Catholic high school. Despite my bible-tastic name (adam) she didn't baptise me. I'm a little hellion....
However, I long ago found my belief system: DONT BE A DICK. That's it.

I find it interesting how many people I meet who are athiest "but once catholic"
what the hell is catholicism doing to these people to drive them away from God?

Let me tell you about my Father......

actually, I'm interested in why those of you choose to be atheists, why you're "proud" to be, and what turned you away from what you were first introduced to (i.e., Catholicism)?

For me, the idea of a supernatural being that has always existed doesn't mesh with the laws (not suggestions, but laws) of physics. Seems to me that humans need explanations for everything. If it can't be explained but current science, it must be God. As science figures things out, we move them from the God column to the science column. I think it's just a matter of time (might be thousands of years) before we figure out everything and eliminate the need for God.
