QUOTE (brian01tib @ Jan 22 2006, 06:01 PM)
How big of shot would be ok for 13:1 comp pistons or would that just be pushing the limit? Before some says go turbo I really cant have lag and a super no ones gotten real power from and my gas milage woud be horrible.

I wouldn't spray on a motor with such high compression. You are just asking for trouble...

So basically 50 shot=50hp? 75 shot=75hp.. etc? Bah.. I dont think there'll be enough difference from 50 shot to 60 shot, at least not enough to get a new fuel pump and the like. 50 shot IS 50 flywheel HP.. and that is not bad.

You people and turbo lag... take a small turbo, don't go too big on the piping, and you'll have no lag whatsoever. Ever driven a stock GST or GSX? No lag at all. Spraying a high compression motor is just asking for it to die. Either go all motor high compression, or go F/I with low compression. Trying to run F/I on high compression compromises reliablity and engine life.

I'd get a new fuel pump anyway.

Turbo lag is a myth in my opinion. I've got a 550-600whp capable turbo in my car RIGHT NOW with 2.5" piping and I only have to wait like 1 second for it to spool up in the later gears. And once it starts spinning, it never wants to stop.
