I just have some questions. Why do you need 4 1000 watt amps to drive 2 JL's? Who gave you the estimate of 164 db's? I have 3 JL 12's and am almost hitting 150 I think you better talk to these guys cause I think your being raked over the coals 164 is almost record breaking. Don't take me for disrespecting you I just find it very very hard to beleive especially because you don't have reinforced glass. As far as the window goes it will get db fatigue if you are pushing that many db's and it won't take long either so you might want to be careful dynomat and keep the windows open as much as possible when doing normal driving at least crack them.

 

i would also worry about the sound pressure it will produce inside the car. check 1) to see how much air space your car has and how air space (volume) you and the sub and box will take up ( depends on type of box used ported / band pass /sealed / iso-beric ) 2) check the amount of air movement inside the car ... every car has vents (fresh air recirculation and 2 vents for the back that acts like a oneway check valve. These two things matter because your hole will act like band pass box. if your glass doesn't shatter you could also have thing pushed out or pulled in when you crank that baby and max it right out. with smaller sub like ten and twelves it wouldn't be a big factor. check out JLAUDIO.COM for more info on sub boxes.... when it is all done I am sure you will have a SWEEEEET !!!! audio system that i will be envious of.

they are w-7's and i will be using 2 1000 watt amps 4 each speaker one on each voice coil the speaker are the 13.5's and the 1000 watt amp hasnt came out yet

164db is not going to happen on your car unless you make the car airtite and fill the doors with cement, my friend has 2 15in cerwin vega strokers in his jeep and can only like like 157, its just not going to happen man
