Stock Speaker Question
figured i'd throw this in,
when i got my 300w pioneer 6x9's and 6 1/2, they would go maybe to about 7/10th of the volume i could get with my oem speakers before distorting and sounding pretty bad, once i got a 4 channel amp there insanely loud and clear
not good for your speakers if your under powering them, always hear from people that they get damaged quicker if there underpowered then overpowered
just my $.02

20W norm, 40W max, 4ohms...
They were WAY back there behind all the other spare parts from my wrecked Tib...lol

I've been throwing 50 watts RMS at them for the past 5 years and they are still in great shape. I just recently upgraded to the Audiobahns that everyone raved about because I got a good deal from REDZ smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif . My stockers are still in great shape though. They sounded SOOOOO much better when I amped them. Seriously, the stock speakers are not as crappy as you might beleive.
^^^Yeah I loved the stock sound and most people thought they were aftermarket... but I get so much clearer highs and mids (gotta-have for my Techno wink1.gif ) with the 4-way Premiers fing02.gif

you do realize how easy it is to get around the ebrake feature right?
i found that when i replaced my stock deck with my panasonic one the stock speakers sounded SOOO MUCH better.
It's not that easy tibby01. I had to install a button. In order to disable the blue screen that comes up, i have to press my button for exactally 2 secconds then release. If I press too short or too long, I have to wait 20 secconds and do it all over again. IT'S A PITA. i found that when i replaced my stock deck with my panasonic one the stock speakers sounded SOOO MUCH better.
The stock speakers from the upgraded sound package sound great. With my old deck i was running stock speakers with a amp and sub, it sounded excellent. I just can't get the same quality out of this deck. It's definately not the speakers.

DTN, by "premier" speakers do you mean Pioneer's Premiere line? Just interested cuz I have the 420W Premier 6x9s hooked up to my Pioneer deck. I get some distortion as well but I always figured it was because I'm powering them from the deck and not an amp the way I should be....
No i mean, the stock upgraded which are an excellent matched to this deck. You know, the 6 speaker setup.
