Does anyone know the ohm rating or power rating of the stock speakers?

no attempting to determine if I need more then my premier speakers. I'm trying to isolate a bit of noise. I have no idea why i can't turn up my volume to 3/4 on my sterio. It sounded better with my old stock system. The specs on my Jensen VM9021TS is 18WRMS @ 4 ohms 1% harmonic distortion. It dosn't make any sence. I'm hearing probly 5% (yeah from my calibrated ear) at half volume. it shouldn't be happening.

I think i might have to RMA my deck. If not for the poor sound quality, then the digital trebble centering is off. Like i put the treble all the way up to +14 and then i can adjust the frequency to between 10kHz and 17kHz. The wierd thing is the pitch sounds like 17kHz at the 10kHz setting and 10kHz at the 17kHz setting. It's digital so i think it's probly a software issue they resolved in later models and when i called they were quite willing to take it back as a RMA...

Just found out that there's a easter egg in the jensen VM9021TS. it's a hidden menu, you start a DVD and then on the remote you hit stop stop 1 2 6 4 and you can turn on and off the e-brake bypass so you don't have to have the e-brake engaged. to save you hit system menu twice. Just figured i'd mention that.

you do realize how easy it is to get around the ebrake feature right?

i found that when i replaced my stock deck with my panasonic one the stock speakers sounded SOOO MUCH better.

DTN, by "premier" speakers do you mean Pioneer's Premiere line? Just interested cuz I have the 420W Premier 6x9s hooked up to my Pioneer deck. I get some distortion as well but I always figured it was because I'm powering them from the deck and not an amp the way I should be....
