I personally don't know alot about sony's stuff.I have always stayed away due to the fact I have always heard bad things about their car audio equipment.I've been into car audio for about 9 years now, so that's a long time to hear neg things about a particular brand.

The amp looks like it might be okay,as far as features. What I don't like though is the fact they are not rating the power in RMS. RMS power is a more accurate measurement because it's the continous power the amp will put out.Max means peak power.Peak power doesn't happen all the time.It has to do with transients.Bass drum hits and cymbol crashes are examples of transients in music. They are sound that come and go quickly, but often eat alot of power.

When you match an amp with speakers/subs, you want to match the power according to the RMS rating or Continous rating.RMS and continous are basically the same thing.

As for features on that amp, it has a nice looking( as for spec's ) crossover section, and the bass boost is at a decent freq

so then u think the amps ok but stay away from sony subs?....and if i get say 2 600w subs and the 760w amp...i would need two amps right? the sonys would work till i get the money for good quality ones....what would be some good brand names?

I would do some more research on that particular amp.Go to crutchfield.com and see if they have that amp. They always have accurate spec's. That way you can see if that amp will be a good match for the sub you want.

As for the sub, I don't know.Alot of the trick to awesome bass is the enclosure design. The enclosure(box) is the main thing that will make or break a bass system.I have designed enclosures for crappy,or some what crappy subs, and they sound great.I'm not saying to use a junk sub,I'm just trying to convey the fact that the enclosure has to do with at least 50% of the success.

those 600w subs will handle prob 200-250 w RMS, that one amp would be fine (i think mine is rated at 150w RMS x 2 @ 4ohms and 760 peak). I'm going to be ( madtib already knows this) powering a JL w/ a sony amp (at least til i can afford to get 2 JL amps)

ONE THING ABOUT THE WORLD OF CAR AUDIO : more power is not ALWAYS better. you can buy the most expensive amp out there and get really good sound, or spend a 1/4 of the money and if you are not going to compete...........probably not notice a difference between the cheaper amp and the expensive one.

I know that people that are real big into competetions can prob hear the difference but the average person will most likely not.

That's my problem!! My freak'n ears are expensive. If things don't sound quite right, I about go insane.

Enclosures.....................the material they are made of,shape,bracing........construction stuff. Also, the type and size of the enclosure. Most of the time, a sealed enclosure is the best bet. But, I have also done aperiodic enclosures that were just mid blowing.Part of this has to do with what the sub wants, and the other what you want.

Okay, the amp looks good to power 2 of them subs.I haven't looked at what amount of air space the subs need vs what that Q logic box has.

I'm at work,so bare with me.
