Ok...well i live in Ohio, and it's starting to get colder than sh*t!! And seeing how im a senior in high school, i have to wake up early, and go to school around 8....So im runnin late as usual, and what do i see when i get in my car??? A windshield that is glazed over with frickin ice! So i scrape a 1ftx1ft square on the drivers side windshield, and drive to school hoping that i dont wreck and kill myself or anyone else because i cant freakin see!!!

So that brings me to my main point...I WANT A REMOTE START! But i have a manual, and i dont know who sells a remote start for manuals, and how i am going to install one if i do find one!

Any suggestions fellas?

I did find one on ebay...but im not to sure of the quality???

Any will work. You just have to make sure you leave it in neutral all the time (very hard to do for someone in a habit of leaving it in gear) and disconnect the clutch switch.

Where is the clutch switch located?? And i heard that there was a remote start that had an option that your car wouldnt even attempt to start if your car wasnt in neutral...
Thats the one that i want! Because knowin me...ill forget, and next thing i know it...my car is halfway through my house!

The clutch switch is on the pedal. There's two. It's the one at the bottom of the pedals' travel that tells the car the clutch pedal is pushed down and the car can start.

fair warning

if you leave it in gear your car will drive on its own

i wouldnt risk it man

just turn on your car and leave it in neutral until you leave

There's zero risk if you get a remote start designed for a manual. I have a Clifford Intellistart IV on my manual Tib. Compustar has one for manuals too. You exit the car while it's still running and with the parking brake on, so obviously you would have to leave it in neutral. Then you arm the alarm, which shuts down the car which will then allow you to later remote start.

Disconnecting the clutch switch is a lawsuit waiting to happen. What if a mechanic or family member accidentally hits the remote start button? You might simply crash your car into a building or another car. Or someone could be killed. Don't even think about it. That's not an option.

Unless it's a Clifford unit on ebay, it's propably a crap chinese brand. Budget at least $300 if you want an alarm with remote start installed properly. $500 if you want the brain hidden like it should be, and a few extra sensors and backup battery. It's worth the investment to have a pro do the install like it should be done. Then you won't have issues a year or two later.

Don't go to circuit city or best buy.

here is a problem for those of you who use your parking brake and live in a snowy place like me... your PB will lock up... if it gets that cold or there is any moisture in the line... it will sieze. mine did it the other day at school and i had to drive it through school with a locked up tire until it finally gave. what good is the remote start if you cant drive your friggin car around?
