the kenwood works fine. it's just a little older than i thought it looked plus the changer doesn't work at all and that was the main reason why i was going to use it. the deck is just fine though. i just ordered a new harness from ebay so we'll see if that fixes the problem. if not, i'll just use the kenwood until i can buy a new deck.

QUOTE (baseballstud85 @ Feb 20 2008, 12:15 AM)
took the deck up to the audio shop and had them bench test it. they said that it's dead; might be a bad wire plug in the back, but dead nonetheless.

check the pin connections on the board inside the stereo. that's the most likely place of damage when the wires are pulled.

i finally got some new 6x9's and 6.5" components. they're all infinity. the components are the reference series and the 6x9's are the kappa series. i had the shop use the kenwood amp that is mentioned earlier in this thread. i don't know if i posted it when i got it, but back when my decks went out for no reason i got a new panasonic deck installed. i'll get model numbers tomorrow when i get the boxes out of the car. the doors are going to be getting dyno-matted tomorrow since i was running late and had to rush them today when they did the speakers.

Strap that thing down so it doesn't come flying at your head when you slam on the breaks or hit something.

Other than that fing02.gif

How does it sound are you happy with it?

are you talking about the subs? they are secured to the spare tire cover with L brackets and screws. it sounds great. i have to take it back on monday though because they didn't dynomat the doors like they were supposed to when they were apart and there's some sort of rattle inside the panels around the 6x9's.
