loud clunk? I happen to think that makes the car sound pretty sturdy to me.. at least compared to my other beasties, you can hear the sheetmetal flex when you shut the door anywhere near hard on either of my Italian cars.

If that is the case, there is not much you can do because it is a frameless design. Those are less rigid than the framed doors, just part of the price you pay for beauty.

yeah, i know the sound will be inherant with any frameless door. just wondering if the fatmat helped to absorb some of that vibration.

This did nothing for the window clunk when not fully up as far as I know other than muffling it slightly. That's the window rattling in the track. I never leave my windows down, so it's not an issue for me, but I suppose you could apply some mat to the bottom of the window. I don't know how much glass there is available though, or how much it would help.

Total cost was $130, which is $1.30 per square foot, the best deal for the quality IMO. Added less than 25lbs. No other costs, aside from a new bottle of liquid bandaid. smile.gif

Now that I have been driving for a while with it all installed, however, I really want to do something behind the dash. There's noise still coming through the dash area, and what sounds like the pillars on each side of the window, maybe the headliner area too. I hope to put a layer down in those areas eventually. No complaints about noise anywhere else yet. Absolutely no smell from the mat either. No evidence of peeling or bubbles.

I used the last few square feet on the hatch, but couldn't tell a difference afterwards. I wish I had used it under the headliner instead.
