yeah, i took of my stock faces on that side also, because they didnt line up right. i cut little circles around each colored warning window and stuck those to the back of the new ones with scotch tape. the only problem is that when the light for one thing comes on, another warning thing may light up partially.

i used the paint pen to do it. im probably gonna rip it open again and use the other one of the other two paint bottles. they r actually metallic paints while the paint marker is just a glitter paint. im hoping that the metallic might reflect more of the blue led light and make the needles glow a little brighter.

EDIT: Please don't double post man, use the edit button unkay? Thanks!

by the way jaws, i remember talking to u about these guages on hp.com and u said u ordered them. did u install them yet? did u have to make any mods to them?

Hmm...

I wonder how the Duplicolor Metalcast Blue would look on that? It's VERY metallic.

So far, your needles look the best.

I wish Blacktibs would get his done.

when you painted the needles did you only paint the back of them like stock? you might be able to get a little more brightness out of them if you paint the back and the sides. I'm going to do just that but with red leds and silver paint, instead of blue, and since i'm goin with red, i'll just take the paint off of what i can with out removing the needles themselves. Painting the sides seems to me to be the best bet, since you only see the fronts anyways. When i do get my stuff from blacktibs i'll post pics. I still haven't posted the other pics i said i would, but might as well wait and do it once everything is in.

by the way, anyone know what other needles will fit the rd's?????? gk maybe???? looking for needles that have a round base and are long enough to line up just like the stock ones do

i bought those same gauges off of ebay too =) i put it on already on my rd1 but the fitment is a lil off, its like shifted to the right a little.

unfortunatlly i have no clue about electronics and i dont know where in the world i'm surpose to put my wires... so mine dont turn on at night... but it looks cool with just the needles on tongue.gif

the guy who had my car before me put a whole bunch of useless wires for the cd changer he had so all i see are wires all over the place under my dash =/

Edit: just found out where to put the wires on the DIY forum ^^;; still dont know how to put it in though sigh.gif
