I think i'll do something similar to a RD1 heater cluster led setup, except done from the sides of the plastic, illuminating the entire H from all angles. What thinks you tibby01?
now that sounds like an idea. i dont know how big these things are but youre talking about wrapping them around the inside of the perimeter of the heater controls, right? that might work pretty good.

no. i'm talking about, I Just bought the clear H spare tire cover from redzman (posted on last page). He still has the light bars. And i'm thinking about drilling in, clear cementing and molding separate LEDs into the plastic.
But that's also a good idea.

They had them in a set of 2 10 inch ones for $29 bucks, or you can get a 15 inch one for the same price.
The thing is, the 2 10 inch ones light it up perfectly. I was thinking of doing the 15 incher across the top and the 10's on the side, but it would have been overkill.

that's the problem with you kids these days... Never respect the value of a dollar. Seriously though.. i'm an electronics technician. NO way i'm going to buy something i can make better myself and fully understand if it comes time to troubleshoot.
I'm going to drill 3mm LEDs in from all angles, then hook it up to a switch so i can have it on full, or dance.

The bars that REDZ had were too central. distributed lighting is the way to go. Also, a bit of touch-up like vacuum hose or something around the edge will cover the work.
besides, I don't think any of my work has turned out looking poor. Most people want to know how i do it. That's the most important thing you want to cover up. Never show signs of how you did it.

I thought of that too, but I need to use my trunk now and then and don't want to have to disconnect a bunch of shit to do it.
Not to mention, there's very little space between the plexi and the carpet.
It's yours now, so enjoy.

Yeah. It's going to be a bit before I can actually get a chance to do it. I've got my clear corner alarm scanner lights to work with right now. I usually locate some covered crimp-on terminals on a wire hidden somewhere near the work so it can come out with minimal effort.
