if you wanna lay glass on the dash the best thing to use is tshirts. soak them in resin and then lay them flat on the dash you might have to go 2-3 layers so it dosen't crack. but why would you want to do it any way???

i wanted to simply learn how...ive seen a bunch of cars with 7" screens molded into the dash and door panels and i just figured that they used fiberglass.

Best thing would be to get hold of a junk piece. You don't want to be experimenting with good stuff.

dude you don't want to have trial and error on a good dash. Practice makes perfect. There is nothing we can tell you that will make you lay glass perfect over night. It takes time and a lot of work to get it right. And when you mess up lots of sanding and redoing. If you want to mold a 7" in the dash be looking for about 6 weeks to get it done right. you'll be working on it for about 2-3 hours a day.

I think you are doing an awesome job by doing it yourself and trying to learn. Solo knows what he's talking about. Practice makes perfect, but in the act of practicing, you don't want to ruin what you have. Tiburons are fairly rare compared to almost any other car, so we have to make sure we keep them represented well and don't have any running around that look like utter crap.

Do it right, try to find somebody locally who can maybe show you how. I've watched it on TV a few times, and seeing it done step by step really really does help a ton. I would suggest you get a mold of your dash (or whatever you're fiberglassing) by using some tape, and working with that. Be careful.

And another question... why lime green? And did you really paint every panel in the car white? What did you use to paint it?

Fiber glassing gets easy quick, I have fiberglassed alot of stuff interior and front lips. That is funny I thought you were an ad guy for the ECC company in maryland. Or the ECC car club we have.

actually...I started with blue and white...then I changed the entire interior to orange and blue...then red and blue....after that I changed it to lime green and blue...but I figured it looked like a turtle or something...so just this past 2 weeks Ive taken my dash and door panels off and completely re-did them whiet and blue...and it looks better than ever...I still need to tackle the rear, trunk, roof, and visors...I also just masked my headlights and taillights...and honestly..they look pretty good.Ill have pics later on tonight.
