Cig Lighter And Rocker Switch With Neons
actually nothing.. just got back from store and bought a spare wire to do what majik was talking about.
i guess i do have 1 question... lol
instead of shaving off part of the plastic on the green cig power wire... cant i just cut the end where it goes to the bulb like thing and connect straight to switch?
like... cant i just cut the green wire before it reaches the black piece then connect that to the switch?

i could... im just sayin this way could be easier...
also... my switch wire is alot thicker than the cig power wire....
just used box cutter and shaved it... attached spare wire to it.. used electrical tape to secure it all tightly...
important question!
i put the 2 black ground wires from the neons into the ground tab on the switch.... is that all the grounded i need?
i currently have 2 neons connected to acc, the power from cig lighter to the power tab on switch, and 2 ground wires from neons to the neon tab on switch...

You are asking the same questions over and over again despite flawless answers from everybody. You should read some kind of basic tutorial on how electricity works before doing this.
The grounds from the neons and the ground from the switch should both be connected either to some metal part of the chassis, or to the black ground wire from the cig lighter. It is not enough to connect the ground from the neons to the ground to the switch, there is no connection to the "real" ground. Electricity needs a cycle to circulate, the chassis ground or the black ground wire closes the cycle.
If anything, you can ignore the grounding on the switch. That ground is probably only used for the led in the switch. What is important - neons ground must connect either to metal ground (a bolt) or to the black cig lighter wire.
If you still aren't getting it, why don't you first try to light up the neons with no switch, and then just add the switch as something which temporarily disconnects the power line.

Try to make sure what you are writing can be understood.
A post ago you said
"i put the 2 black ground wires from the neons into the ground tab on the switch.... is that all the grounded i need?"
now you say
"but i have no way to connect the ground wires from neons to the switch.."
Which one is it then?
For the 100th time in this thread, you can just connect the grounds from the neons to some metal part on the chassis (a bolt).

ohhhh so the black ground wires from the neons dont even need to go to switch? so the final outcome will be 2 neon power to the acc, 1 power from cig to power tab on switch... then the ground tab on switch will stay open with nothing connected?
