ok i kinda need some help. I am currently sitting in my car with the laptop staring at my new neons, rockerswitch, and the cig lighter.

i took apart the center console and am looking at the cig lighter wires. right now

i know i must connect the 2 power wires from each neon together, then connect that to the power connecter of the switch, and also do the same with the ground wires of the neon to the ground connector on the switch.

where i get confused is how do i connect this switch to the cig lighter for it all to be powerd? the rocker switch still has 1 connecter open called the acc.... the cig lighter has a blue with white line wire, a green with white line wire, and a black with white line wire...

can someone pleaseeeee tell me how to connect this rocker switch to the cig lighter? posted below is a picture of the switch. far left connecter is power, middle is acc, and right is ground.

I'm pretty sure your going to go like this...

POWER to CIG LIGHTER
ACC to NEONS
GROUND to GROUND

I'm no expert though.

ITs a fine way.

Power wil be the 12V from the cig lighter.
ACC will go to the two neon power wires
ground will go to a ground, any screw to metal should work.

Then just ground the neone wires somewhere and youll be good.

how do i remove the power wire from the cig lighter? doing this will not allow me to use cig lighter correct? not that i care

Will be protected by the cig lighter fuse. and you dont need to cut the wire. Strip some insulation off and splice into it. Theres a possiblity you will need to upgrade the fuse but maybe not.

And you maybe could ground through there to. Im not sure what wire though, grab a meter and check.

Shave back the insulation with a razor (make sure power is off, even disconnect your battery to be safe!!). Solder in some wire and wrap it with electrical tape.

Or just use a wiretap...

Then find a wiretap... lol
http://www.radioshack.com/sm-wire-tap-in-s...pi-2104093.html

Basically to do what I was explaining, you have to strip the wire. But you can't use a regular wire stripper without cutting the wire. So I usually just use a razor blade (not the Razor phone...) like an Xacto knife and shave off the insulation. Then I solder a wire to the stripped part and wrap it with electrical tape.
