theres no such thing as too much wattage for amps right? i mean if i had speakers at 75 watts and an amp thats way more than enough for the speaker, theres no harm right? it would just be kinda pointless and wasteful but you can always have more watts on an amp for the speaker right?

within reason you would be fine. you may even get a better sound out of the speakers that way, due to the fact you aren't maxing out the amp.

Like ABQ said. Within reason. Don't grab an amp that will be sending 500W RMS on each channel and your speakers only take 75W RMS. At the same time I wouldn't pick an amp that will under power your speakers even a little bit at all. Maybe... 125W RMS speakers and 150W RMS amp sounds good. That's just what was suggested to me by a friend of mine that is fairly knowledgable on audio stuff.
