I think it would look good if you could put a speaker in the right vent on the dash.

That would make an engineering marvel out of removal and replacing my dashboard. That thing has to have alot of movement to get in and out of the dash. In order to make that work, I would have to overlap the crashpad. I had thought about that initially and it would have been the best option, but free-standing crashpad mount /cut in 1/2" is the only way I could make this work. It's because the dash is actually angled towards the driver. the line points right in front of the passenger. In order to make this work, the speaker would be about 6-7" foreward making it a right channel speaker for the driver and a left for the passenger. It would just have to be too close and would not flow because of a sharp cut-off in the back which would be required.

The red one is a good option which I initially looked at as well. But, even though it does look good in that picture, it does not flow with the car. The crashpad has the same sort of shape as my current box, but I will be making it more flowing on 1/2 of it.

I'm going to continue on with this. With some body work, it could look alright, but the tiburon is very curve and angle sensitive. So I will probly be a while longer making it.

I think about the only option I could do better is to make an upwards pointing speaker. It may be a better option. Who knows... If i don't like it when I'm done, that's another option.

I'm all for the center channel but if you aren't too sure about it maybe you could do something with these or a similar speaker:

I thought maybe a thinner longer pod with about 2 or 4 of these.

Either on the dash where you have it now or possibly above the rear view mirror blended into the trim piece above the windshield.

Since the center channel will be right up front and close to the driver and passenger it won't need much power and since it is more for voices and ambient sounds it doesn't need to be a big speaker that plays very low frequencies.

One more option would be if you don't use your ashtray you could replace it with a little pod with some of these pointing up at the driver and passenger.

IMO you may not be happy with the pod on the dash because it will stick out and not look clean and won't "flow" with the curves of the dash. Not to mention it would be easy to notice and will alert would be thieves that you have a audio system that might be worth stealing.

Just my thoughts and opinion by the way fiberglass job looks pretty good.

^That would make an engineering marvel out of removal and replacing my dashboard. It has to be moved around too much to have anything overlapping. Also, the dashboard is angled which means to have a reference there it would have to be centered on an angle. It wouldn't look good in 3D.

No man. I'm going with a Infinity 3022CF

I'm working on a way to light the center portion with an LED. Also, these are much better quality speakers which produce a full range of sound.

There is not enough room on the plastic dashboard to mount this and actually be able to remove and replace the dashboard... So I'm kind of up in the air about this. I think I like the current design with some modification. The dashboard is curved and because of that it would be difficult to make it symmetrical and curved. here's the designs. And of course it would match the crashpad with either a black color, or actual pleather to match the crashpad. It won't be this color when completed.

the final would be somewhere between these two if I went for symmetrical. So I don't think i'd like to go that route because of the odd dip in the dash.

I'm having problems with deciding between these two.

I can't seem to make any progress on this right now because I'm up in the air as to what would look good. Of course black would look good, but the shape is important.

that design is just too out of place, it dosent go with anything at all. its basically just a speaker sitting in the middle of your dash that dosent really flow with anything

I think the only true way it would flow or at least one of the few way's is if you took that design here...and put the right side piece...like bottom right of the piece and pulled that down in between where the line for the airbag is and against the centre console, down towards the ground and molded it all in but it would be a crazy amount of work.

i would blend it more with the dash curves and have it run along the curves instead of out a couple inches.
