are 97-99 gauges the same as 00-01?
actually, i would leave the stock gauges on there, for an anchoring point with the double sided tape. if you dont have them there, you wont have anything for the new faces to stick to(i dont think the stock tape/glue would be strong enough).
plus all that cutting would suck, and is just unneeded
but yeah, you could cut them and take them off, you would still need the litte warning light windows though.

Well that is basicly why I would cut them off. The new gauges have clear windows (not circles, the actual shape with clear film). I have red bulbs for behind all of those markers and dont want the stock film to change the color. I could always use double sided tape to tape the gauges to the clear housing that they rest on.
you ever heard of the stuff "OOOPS!!!"?
get some, along with some qtips. it will wipe away the color on the back of the stock gauges.
and the gauges dont rest on the clear housing, except for at the corners. there is a space between the faces and those clear housings in most of the places.

tibby my stock faces just PEELED off...... I have the AOS silver rev. indiglo gauges and they ARE F'in SWEET.
WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
i've never had any problems w/ the needles except for the fact that since i removed my stock faces you can see thru to the clear plastic.
the main problems you are going to have w/ removing the needles isn't getting them set back to the proper positions, but making sure that you dont PUSH DOWN ON THEM TOO HARD TRYING TO DO SO.
no big deal.
Check out my gallery (interior) for a couple of pics......and REDZ will also be posting his once he work out his USB issues.
